They left the others without any word. What was more to be said? Gilgamesh had just sacrificed so much for her. Even though they were Eternals, Thena could kill him at any moment when under the Mahd Wy'ry against her will. Or get killed by him and, honestly, the goddess would rather have it that way. She didn't want to lose herself but harming the only person she really cared about was out of the question. Forgetting who she was meant forgetting who they were for each other. That simple fact was more painful than any fight with wny deviant. The goddess of war title meant nothing against the Mahd Wy'ry. There wasn't a weapon she could conjure that would stop it now.

Thena followed him silently. The jungle was stretching in every direction. Humanity had spread almost everywhere by now. Walking with a purpose, Gilgamesh seemed to know where he was going. His strength wasn't only physical. This would be their home for a while even though they were walking North. Thena didn't really care where they were going as long as they were together. She was scared of being alone when she had the potential to be so destructive. Gil could protect her but more importantly the innocents around her. The last deviant had been killed. She wouldn't have to fight anymore. Hopefully it would help. The illness had shown itself during the last battle. That hope was foolish really but it was all she had.

"Are you going to stay silent for the next thousand years?" asked Gilgamesh, not without humour.

"I don't know what to say."

"Warm or cold?"

"What?" asked Thena, surprised by the turn in the conversation.

"Our next place. Warm or cold weather. Because we are going North right now, how much North are we thinking about?"

"Both." Thena answered with a smile, a genuine one because Gilgamesh was still the same and their banter was still there.

"Both she said. Very well then."

Gil bumped into her shoulder playfully, always mindful of his strength. He knew that Thena wasn't made of glass. His kindness was simply showing even in the smallest gesture. Humans were really fragile beings. Hitting deviants was all in good fun but that kind of brutal force could never be used against the people of Earth whatever the circumstances. The man wasn't just his strength just like Thena wasn't just an excellent warrior. Yet, that side of their personality made them more attune to the fragility of life.

Nature was providing them with everything. Hunting was more than easy for them. Small animals were aplenty. Sometimes when the place felt more inviting they would set camp for a while. They would spend their day gathering fruits and wild vegetables. Gilgamesh tried his hands at cooking. The first dishes he made were just plain horrible. How could he make those nice and sugary fruits taste so foul? That was beyond Thena's wisdom. This made him laugh so hard that time, he almost fell from the fallen tree he was using to sit. His good mood was contagious and Thena couldn't help the smile spreading on her lips. They would be alright. Unless, of course, they would be dying from food poisoning.

The continent was vast. They wandered around for quite some time. The landscape changed a lot as they were still going North. Earth was really a beautiful planet. Tribes were welcoming to them. Trades were more than appreciated. She likes showing techniques to the young warriors just as much as she enjoyed playing with the younger ones. Gilgamesh liked to give a hand where he could. He learned a couple of recipes along the way and it was a vast needed improvement.

Unfortunately, they could not stay in the same place for too long. It was too dangerous even though Thena didn't have another episode in a long time. Their hearts were breaking a little when they had to part. Thena and Gilgamesh could never get attached to any mortal. Living for so long they had already seen too many people they knew die. The lesson was learned. Sersi and Phastos had always been the closest to the population how hard it was for them.
