Part Two.

"Yo it's crazy my little ass used to be in clubs since I was 16 haven't been in one since. They even more lit now" I said with a laugh and Tavi laughed. "And I missed my turn up partner so we gone get lit tonight" she said as she squealed and hugged me. "Yo y'all crazy" Rico said with a laugh as she held his girlfriend Tianna close to him. Rico was protective over every girl in his life. I always loved that about Ric. He let us all walked in first and he walked behind us. "Guess who own this club" he said in my ear as he we walked through the crowd. I looked at him and he laughed. "Coop" he said. "Nah" I said. "You foreal" I asked. "I'm foreal we finna go see him right now" he said. Coop was another one of the boys in the neighborhood we grew up with. Coop had a fucked up life foreal. I remember seeing people come to his house when we was 10 and cop bags of weed from him. He only had his father growing up so his father put him to work early he was tough on him. When I would wanna get out the house after me and Marcus would get into it that's who house I would go to because eventually his father moved out and left the house to him. He would always look after me, especially after Ric moved because he knew I was by myself other than Tavi. He tried to convince me to leave Marcus too. Me and Coop had something going on between each other but we never acted on it even though I know we both wanted to. We made it to the VIP section and Rico grabbed all of our hands as he helped us up the stairs. I started walking towards the couch and I spotted him as I did and he spotted me too because he furrowed his eyebrows and stood up. "Wassup Coop" Rico said. "Wassup Ric. Tianna. Tavi" he said as he put the blunt to his lips. He side eyed me for a while but he didn't say anything and broke the silence by giving him a smirk. "Nah I'm just fuckin wit you. Wassup Ma welcome home" he said as he pulled me into a hug. I held onto him and smiled. "Thank you Coop." I said. "Nah this can't be the same Amia from 6 years ago. What they was feedin yo ass in there yo granny greens and cornbread" he said as he held my hand in the air and I twirled around while laughing and they all laughed too. "I'm back and I'm betta" I said. "Oh yeah" he said with a smile as he stared at me. I nodded with a smirk and then I looked down and back up at him and he still had the same smirk on his face but he looked away. "Y'all can sit down what y'all wanna drink" he asked as we all sat. "Tavi I know yo ass ready for a drink huh" he said and we laughed. "Fuck you" she said. "You still the life of the party huh" I said to Tavi and she laughed. "You already know mami" she said and I laughed and smiled at her. I love Tavi she always been my girl. It basically was me, her, Ric and Coop since we was younger. We always all stuck together. We broke the rules together. We did the street shit together and we all came from a fucked up life so we made sure we always had each other. And my older brother looked out for all of us but he wasn't in the streets though. He was a good kid, athlete, got a scholarship and got drafted into the NFL and left Brooklyn behind. It's crazy he wasn't in the streets but it was like he was just by the street knowledge he had. He was book smart and street smart, that was the best combination anybody could have in Brooklyn. "Ima drink some patron" I said and he nodded. "Yo Asia" he said and some girl walked over to him. "Bring me a bottle of patron and a bottle of dusse" he said. "Alright I got you" she said. "Appreciate it" he said and she smiled and walked off. We all engaged in conversation over a couple of shots and a couple of more shots later I was a little too buzzed but I was chilling. "What you so quiet for" Coop said to me over the music as he nodded his head to it. I laughed a little and looked at him. "I'm tipsy. Real tipsy" I said. "I can see it all in yo face" he said and I laughed. "It's real good to see you ma. It's been 6 long years. I still remember that last time I saw you" he said and I stared at him. Last time I saw Coop I ran to his house after a bad fight with Marcus. Face was banged up badly, bloody, scratches, just a mess. He wanted to kill Marcus that day and it took me a lot of convincing to do so Marcus could live. Looking back I wish I would have let him. "Yeah" I trailed off as I looked down. "We ain't gone talk too much about it though I want you to enjoy ya self you know. But it's definitely good to see you." He said again, his eyes low from the shots and weed mixed together. He smirked at me and then he looked away. A few seconds later we heard a loud commotion in the crowd and Coop quickly stood to his feet and Ric and his security rushed behind him as he walked out of the V.I.P to see what was wrong. We all stood to our feet and looked to see what was going on and I seen the security pull the two dudes apart that was fighting and then shortly after Coop and one of the dudes exchanged a few words and Coop hit him in his face making him fall. The crowd got louder and the guy stood up and next thing I know I hear gunshots. Everybody started to yell and run out of the building. Be out there" I said. "What" she squealed. "We need to Go" she said. "Go ahead Tavi" I said and a look of worry crossed her face and she nodded and ran after Tianna. I walked out of the VIP section and people were still exiting the club. I was looking for Coop. I seen Ric and the security pushing people out but I didn't see Coop. I started to walk around looking for him. "What the fuck" I mumbled looking around. I hoped something didn't happen to him, I just got home. "Man where the fuck she at" I heard a voice say when I was about to turn the corner. I bumped into somebody and they grabbed me, it was Coop. I stared up into his eyes and he did mine the same. I smirked at him and he continued to stare at me and he put his arm around my shoulder. "Everybody else outside I ain't see you I got worried" he said. "I was looking for someone" I said as we made it outside and I looked at him and he stared down at me. "Me too" he said as he licked his lips. We walked to the car and I opened the door and got in. "Bitch are you okay" Tavi yelled. "I'm good tav" I said with a laugh. "You can't be doin no crazy shit like that" she said and at this point I was in tears just because of how Tavi talked. "Yo what you finna do" Ric asked Coop. "Shit man. I'm mad this shit got closed down you know this the after hour spot" he said while shakin his head. "Yeah I'm already knowin" Ric said back. "Just pull up at my crib" he said. "Get in front of Ted" he added. "Fasho" Ric said and then Coop walked away. We made it to Coop's house about 25 minutes later and his house was amazing. It was crazy. My house was big and his house was 10 times that. We all got out and we followed Ric. "Yo wassup Ted you got word on them niggas back at the club" Ric asked. "Man hell yeah said he was from nigga from High Hills. He run with some nigga name Marcus" he said and I stopped talking to Tavi and Tianna and snapped my neck in his direction. "Marcus who" Ric asked "I don't know him at all but I guess he back here they said he just moved back to the city. Don't trip though they said the Marcus dude a family man he don't get into all that" he said and my lip curled when I heard the word family man. Cruel ass evil ass Marcus is a family man. Yeah alright, I couldn't think of nothin but killing his ass but my own way because I know Ric wasn't gone let me get involved. But my issue with Marcus was one I wanted to handle alone. It was personal. That money he took was gone get my grandma out of the slums. Marcus crossed the line when he took food out of my grandmothers mouth. I listened and took all the information in and we got out of the front yard and walked inside the house. I heard loud talking from the kitchen and Ric whispered in Tianna ear and she nodded then walked towards the living room. Guess he told her to go sit down because he didn't want her involved. Tavi followed behind her but Ric looked at me with a soft look and sighed. He nodded his head towards the kitchen for me to follow him and I looked at Tavi and she nodded at me. I followed behind him and we entered the kitchen and I seen Coop sitting on the island smoking and 4 other guys sitting at the table. "She know" Coop asked Ric as he inhaled the smoke. Ric nodded and Coop nodded back and looked at me. "We a handle it though Mia we don't need you gettin yo self back in trouble" Ric said. Anger filled me immediately and he sensed it. "Chill" he said quietly. I always had a temper, that was my biggest downfall. "What the fuck do you mean chill. I threw away 6 years of my life for him and while doing so he stole from me. I been planning out his death for 6 years and Ric you know what the fuck is up so the fact you telling me to chill doesn't make sense to me. He didnt just take from me he took from my grandmother. When it comes to that aint no chill and you would be ready to kill somebody too" I said. "I understand what you sayin and I'm letting you know we gone get the nigga" he said slightly raising his voice. I furrowed my eyebrows and he sighed and leaned back against the island. "Look I got anger towards the nigga too. But one thing I ain't gone let you do is get yo dumb ass put back in jail over his ass again. You just need to lay low, relax and be a fuckin lady for once. We got it" he said. I kept my mug on my face but I didn't say a word. It was quiet. Nobody was saying anything then Coop broke the silence by a cough from him smoking. "We could use her though" he said. "I was thinking the same shit" one of the dudes said making me glance at him. Ric mugged Coop and Coop smacked his lips and slid off the island. "Nigga I'm just sayin, shit. She hate the nigga and got a right to. When you left I was the nigga looking out for her. She was coming to my house all hours of the night tryna get away from the nigga face bloody and shit. On top of that and him having her do the shit she was doin, he stole from her" he said and I started to fidget a little with embarrassment as the dudes looked at me. He gave the blunt to one of the dudes and looked at Ric. "All I'm saying is. It ain't about her bein a lady understand, it's about respect. You know if a nigga tried us like that we woulda been dealt with it no matter how far the nigga went or what state he went to. He tried her though so that's the same as him trying us. I don't care about that family man shit they talking about. You play pussy you get fucked. Don't nobody get no pass. And as much as we wanna get the nigga she deserve to get him too. You know ain't shit gone happen to her on our watch. She good." He said. "I don't know you shorty but I heard about you from around the way. You got a lot of respect out here for holding it down when you ain't have to. He did some fucked up shit. Ric you know if she wit y'all she wit us fasho. It ain't a lot of us. But less is more" he said. Ric stayed quiet and kept a straight face as he stared at the ground. "Y'all don't understand" he said. "Ric..." I trailed off and he clenched his jaws. "You know I deserve to do this. Or you wouldn't have brought me in this kitchen in the first place. I would be sitting on that couch with them" I said. I nudged his shoulder and he looked up at me. "I'll be okay" I said with a nod. "And it's on me if shit go left cause you my responsibility" he said in a stern tone "Ric. I'll be okay" I said with more reassurance in my voice. He was quiet for a minute then he shrugged. "Ight so what we doing then" he said in a low voice as he looked over to Coop and the others. I continued to look at Ric as he avoided eye contact. "Shit I think amia got it all figured out. You been plannin his death for 6 years right" Coop said with a laugh and we all laughed. Even getting a chuckle out of Ric. "You said she need to be a lady though nigga" Coop added making us laugh more. "Man this my brother right here this ain't no sister" Ric said with a half smile making us laugh again. "This girl crazy as hell man y'all don't even know what y'all doin wit her" he added. "I know exactly what she is. We all grew up together nigga" Coop said. I looked at him and he smirked at me and I smirked back. "So what's the plan Mia" Ric asked as he went and sat at the table with the other guys, making Coop join them. I went and stood in front of them and started to bite my lip, something I did when I was nervous. "See I got my own plan that was for me specifically if I ever seen him. Now this and when there's other people involved I know nothing about." I said. "Shit It ain't really shit to plan out. We got all the info needed on this nigga." Coop said. It was 4 of Coops men all together sitting here, 2 of them was real quiet. Didn't say a word. But it looked like they meant business. "So what you know" Ric asked. Coop nodded towards one of the dudes I heard talk. "The nigga over in High hills. Word is he don't be into gun play and shit like that he a family man they say. He got two about to be 3 kids, wife, dog you know a real big happy family" he said and Coop snickered as he lit up another blunt. "But he got people who get into that for him. The nigga from the club tonight name Sin. I ran into the nigga a couple times around the way. Cocky nigga I could tell. But they all new here though except for the Marcus nigga of course. Heard he got some niggas runnin with him that came with em from Ohio." He said. "But my dude ain't give us no address yet or none of that. Just know they up in High Hills they got it on lock up there too I heard." He said. "So what we need to do, visit" Ric asked. "Maybe make our presence known there yeah I'm thinkin" he added. Coop nodded. "I'm with whatever y'all niggas on he fucked up my establishment that's damage I gotta pay for" he said shaking his head as he hit the blunt then passed the blunt to Ric. I figured Coop smoked a lot because he started dealing with weed so young. I've lost count on how many blunts he's smoked already tonight. "So what am I doing in the situation." I asked. "Sitting yo ass down for now" Ric said. "Yeah fasho. we not gone get you in nothin right now until we get close enough to hit" Coop said. "Just enjoy yo time being out. Kick it with ya family, whoever. Relax. Be a lady..." he trailed off with a laugh and we all laughed a little. "Shut the fuck up" Ric said to him with a laugh as he passed the blunt to one of the guys. "But nah when that time come, we gone fasho let you know somethin" he said with a nod. I nodded at him and I seen Tavi walking into the kitchen. "Look I need to go lay my ass down. I'm tired" she said. "Yo ass ain't tired. You drunk" Coop said making us laugh. "fuck you Coop. I'm really tired. Yo club shouldn't be a fuckin target maybe we would still be there having fun" she added. "Yeah whatever" he said. "And Tianna sleep in there" she added. Ric scooted the chair back and stood up and Coop looked at him. "Well Aint that some shit" he mumbled as he scrunched his face up. "This nigga wanna leave now that his girl sleep and shit" he said making Ric and the dudes laugh. "Fuck you man I gotta get them home" he said with a laugh. "I'm just talking shit man. We gone all have to link back up tomorrow or some shit, chop it some more.. kick it" he said as he stood up too. "You already know. I'ma hit you in the morning" he said to him and they dapped each other up and Ric did the same to the others then he started to walk away. "Goodnight Tavi" Coop said and she flicked him off and followed behind Ric making him laugh. "I'll see y'all later" I said to them and they all nodded at me and Coop walked over to me. "Let me holla at you for a minute. I'll be back" he said to the dudes and they nodded and started to talk as they passed the blunt. We walked out of the kitchen into the living room and we watched from the front door as Ric carried Tianna and Tavi stumbling as she walked to the car. "drunk ass ain't tired" he said with a laugh making me laugh. "Chill on my girl" I said through laughs. "Ted help her ass to the car" Coop said as he cracked the door. "Bet" he said as he walked from the porch and headed over to Tavi. She held onto his arm and I watched Ric kiss Tianna and then close the passenger door and I smiled. He helped Tavi get in the back seat and then he closed the door and walked over to the driver side window to talk to Ric. I felt him staring at me and I looked at him and he was just smirking at me with low eyes. "What" I asked with a laugh. "Nun" he said. "It really is a good feeling to see you home" he said with a nod. "A year ago I remember Ric bein so geeked because they was gone file yo judicial and let you out early but I heard yo crazy ass got into a fight or some shit so you had to finish off yo bid" he said and I laughed and nodded as I felt blood rush to my cheeks in embarrassment. "Yeah me and my girl got into a big fights with some other girls. I sliced her" I said and he laughed and shook his head. "Crazy" he said again and I smirked and stared at him. "Don't listen to that nigga Ric with that be a lady shit, it ain't that you not one, you just know how to make a muhfucka respect you and I always liked that about you, you never took no shit even as a kid. That's a lady to me. I like that real, authentic shit. That's all you. Always been and now you all grown up..." He trailed off as he continued to stare and I stayed quiet and continued to stare at him too. "You grew up well. Just look at you. Sexy, fine..." he said in a soft voice sending chills through me. "I thought about you ever since that night you came to my house for the last time then left and I never stopped." He added. "but you know what's crazy" he said. "You tough to them but I see you. I always seen you. You had the wrong nigga guiding you, he had you out here running wild, mistreatin you, doin whatever the fuck he wanted..." He said, now closer to me. "But that never been me. You know that" he said as our eyes stayed glued to each other's. "You was always supposed to be mine" he said and I blinked and had to look away for a second. "Bring yo ass on Amia" Tavi yelled from the back window of the car. "Sit back" I heard Ric say to her as the window rolled up. I laughed and Coop did too. "Nah moral of the story. You know where the real love at if you ever need it" he said. I nodded at him and smirked and he pulled me into a hug and I hugged him back, melting into him. "thank you for everything you did back when we were kids I appreciate it." I said. "It was my pleasure" he said almost making me laugh because if you knew Coop him being so soft and cheesy and sweet was unusual to everybody but he's kind of always been like that with me since kids. It's just a lot more emotion now. I felt him plant his lips ontop of my head, something he used to do. I smirked and let him go. "I'll see you tomorrow" I said and he nodded. "Alright ma" he said as he slowly let go of my hand. He opened the door for me and I stepped outside and headed towards the car feeling him burning a hole in my back. "Alright bro" he yelled to Ric and Ric rolled down the window. "Alright nigga I'ma hit you in the AM ight" he said. "Bet" Coop said and I walked behind the car and glanced at Coop and he gave me a small smirk and I did the same and then got in the backseat. I looked at Tavi and she was sleep, mouth wide open making me laugh and Tianna was too. Ric drove off and I sighed as I laid my head back on the seat and stared out the window taking in my surroundings. It didn't feel real that I was home. And as much as I want to enjoy it anger just fills me knowing that Marcus is back here. I was in deep thought then Ric broke the silence. "you ight" he asked. "I'm alright" I said in a soft tone. "You found you a man huh" he said. Nothing but our voices and Tavis snores in the car. I laughed a little. "What makes you say that" I asked. "That's my bad for assuming" he said sarcastically with a laugh making me laugh again because I knew he was referring to Coop. "I just want you to be safe ight I'm sorry for how I acted in there" he said. "I know Ric. You was just being you and I love it" I said and I seen him smile as I looked at him in the mirror. "I love you sis" he said and I hugged him from behind as he drove. "I love you too" I said back and he put his hand on my arm and I leaned up and kissed his cheek. "And I love Tianna for you as well I'm glad I finally got to meet her in person instead of talks over the phone. She's beautiful Ric" I said. "Yeah this my baby" he said as he glanced over at her. I smiled because I was so happy for Ric. He deserved it all. A real solid stand up guy, not too many like him. "And I love Coop for you" he said making me laugh. "Don't front nigga I know about y'all lil shit y'all had goin when I left" he said. "What shit" I asked shyly and he laughed. "Yeah whatever. You was my responsibility back then too he wasn't the only one I had keeping eyes on you. Shit aint nothin wrong with it. I a rather you fuck with Coop than any of these other niggas" he said. "Fuck coop" Tavi said as she was still half way asleep making us laugh. "And her ass think I dont know about her and one of Coop boys, scar. He was the one at the table with the dreads" he said. "Wow tavi" I said and she covered her head with her jacket making me laugh. "Yeah her lil slick ass" he said with a laugh. "Coop got ya back though I promise." He said and I nodded and left it at that. I wasnt looking for love I was scarred from what Marcus did to me. I was simply just trying to get back into my money mode and do what I need to do for myself. Maybe some years ahead but I'm young. I gave enough years of my life to somebody who didn't deserve it. I'll be damned if I let somebody close enough to hurt me again. I laid my head back and closed my eyes and let the music Ric put on fill my ears and I drifted off to sleep.
