Owl
I don't have insomnia
I choose to be awake at night
I prowl the dark
With deadly, silent flight.
Raccoon
I don't have insomnia
Every night I stay awake
Looking for trash
Or something to take.
Mouse
I don't choose to be awake
What was that?
I thought I heard a sound
Like the stalking of a cat.
Tiger
I choose to be awake all night
Looking for my nighttime prey
Waiting for a chance meeting
With an animal I can slay.
Human
I don't choose to stay awake
I go at night to bed;
But no matter what I do
I lay awake instead.
All
We all know of night;
Some to sleep and others to stalk
Thanks for staying up tonight
And listening to our talk.
