Unexpected Love

Why am I here? I ask myself as I'm walking down the steps to the beach holding Chris'hand in the dark. I told myself I'm not going to keep messing around with him anymore, it needs to stop before feelings starting get involved, also I hate secrets.

"You okay Dyl?" Chris says, "I'm talking to you and you look miles away."

"I'm good," I move my hand away from his. "I can't do this anymore with you Chris."

"Do what?"

"You know what, this, us. It's not going to work anymore, I don't know why I did it in the first place." I look away from him I don't want to see the look on his face.

"Okay. We can still be friends though?"

Okay. That's all, months sneaking around and that's all okay. As if nothing has happened. I just nod my head, still not looking at him. I take my shoes off and sink them into the sand, I feel him sit next to me and we sit there in silence for a long time.

"I better get going Dyl, do you want a lift home?" He asks me.

I shake my head, the beach isn't far from where I live, just down the road. He stands there a little bit longer, I think he's going to stay something but I feel him walk away from me. I lie down and close my eyes under the stars. 

Hours later:

I feel someone standing over me, I open one eye and see the sun has come up. There is a boy standing over me, top less, running shorts on.

"I thought you were dead." He says, he puts his hand out to me and I take it.

"Thanks Ant." I walk beside him.

"Were you sleeping out here?"

"I fell asleep that's all." I assure him.

We walk back to his house, and I see a car I've never seen before. "Who's here?" I ask Ant as he opens the door for me.

"Kasey, Chris friend," he says.

I walk into the door, he's never mentioned someone called kasey before.

"You can use the bathroom, if you want." Ant is saying to me, while I scan my brain for someone called Kasey.

"Yeah, sure." I head upstairs and creep towards Chris room. I hear giggling coming from his room, I look inside.
