Keith finally turned off his phone for the first time in hours and continued to lay on his warm bed. Piercing light leaked through the curtains, he winced at the day that beckoned him to get up.

This sleep deprived boy had been up since witch hour, which resulted him with only 4 hours of sleep. He would have to rely on caffeine to keep him going for the day.

I shouldn't make this a habit.

It was clear that isolating himself for just a weekend wasn't enough to recharge his social battery. He needed at least week break for him to hibernate.

Realisation hit Keith: this was the final week of the semester before the start of Summer break. His celebratory mood soon deflated, along with his will to live, when he realised something unfortunate.

He still needed to get up and ready for college.

Keith groaned at this reminder. He heaved himself up from his comfy spot then shortly collapsed back down with a thump. His head spun and vision tunnelled.

Oh, boy, this is gonna be a long day.

Keith stifled a yawn then downed the remainder of his takeout coffee. He hoped for the caffeine to kick in sooner.

He threw his empty cup away and headed up the corridor.

The campus was almost never empty. As it's located on the suburbs (due to the Astro Exploration course: plenty of land space was needed), all, if not majority, of the students and staff lived in the dorms offered here. In conclusion, campus is as lively as ever.

Especially now that the conditions have gotten significantly warmer, everyone now preferred to stay indoors with the luxury of aircons. It didn't help that everyone was basically huddled together like penguins, that would trap each other's body heat to survive the harsh cold climate.

Except we're not penguins and we're inside to avoid the Summer heat, don't recreate it in here!

And give me my goddamn personal space.

A few students mingled in pairs and groups by the walls. There were also a few individuals eager to get to their classes. He recognised a few faces from his Astro Exploration Fighter class, the class where he's heading to. Keith also took notice of the lack of tutors and officers around—

"Shove it, mullet!"

Suddenly, someone charged at Keith's shoulder and sprinted past him. He stumbled forward and regained his balance. He looked up and instantly recognised the back of the guy's short brown hair and distinctive white-blue shirt, that was running away from him.

Whether it was the caffeine that finally hit Keith or the fact that the boy ran away from a fight he started, that pissed him off- it woke him up.

"You're dead, McClain!" Keith shouted and chased after Lance.

A cat and mouse chase had begun.

Keith had no patience for the boy nor for the idle students that acted as obstacles. He spared no time and forced through whatever was blocking his path.
