TW : Panic attack.

Y/N'S POV
It was a cold chilly night when I woke up from a nightmare, covered in sweat and shivering. I looked to my right, hoping to find my mother's warmth, but only saw my pillow and Milo, my teddy.

"Mama?" I called out, whimpering.

I hopped out of bed and decided to go to my mother's room, frightened. "If monsters come get me, you'll fight them, right Milo?" I asked and made him nod.

Once I got to Mama's room, I pushed the door open, only to find her snoring. It started becoming way too hard for me to hold my tears in.

NATASHA'S POV :
As I was sleeping peacefully, I was suddenly woken up by my door being squeaked open. I looked to see who it was, only to find Y/N sniffling, making her way to my bed and holding Milo in her hand.

"Aw, what's wrong, baby?" I rasped, picking her up, lifting the sheets and placing her on my chest.

"Nightmare, Mama." She sobbed, clinging onto my shirt.

I could handle a lot of things in life, but seeing my daughter afraid and sad like that was a different kind of hurt. It was even worse when I couldn't actually do anything about it.

"It's okay, Mama's here." I assured her, slightly sitting up. "Wanna tell me what the nightmare was about?" I asked softly, holding her chin in my hand so she would look at me.

"A shark got me, I was playing with you in the sea." She wailed, hugging me tighter and burying her face in the crook of my neck.

"I'm so sorry, sweetheart. Don't worry now, you're safe. Mama's right here with you." I whispered, rocking her back and forth.

I felt so bad, but all I could do now was comfort her. I stroked her hair as she cried against my chest, not caring about the tear stains. We stayed like that for a couple of minutes, but unfortunately she wasn't calming down.

"Honey, can you copy Mama's breathing?" I asked, cupping her cheeks as she continued to weep.

"I-I'm scared." She managed to say, completely out of breath.

"I know, I know my love. Please, just try, come on." I pleaded, rubbing my thumbs over her cheeks and wiping her tears.

We started taking a few deep breaths together. It took a while, but she finally managed to breathe properly.

"That's right, in and out." I instructed, tucking a stray strand of her hair behind her ear.

Her cries slowly turned into little whimpers, then she snuggled up to me.

"Wanna sleep with Mama, baby?" I asked, hoping she would give in because I had a long day the next morning.

"No, don't wanna sleep! Don't want more nightmares!" She whined, hitting my chest with her little fists.

"Okay, okay." I sighed, peeling her away from me for a second so I could lean across the bed and grab her favorite book from my bookshelf. "How about I read you a little bedtime story?"

Her eyes lightened up. "Is that Alice In Wonderland? Yes, Mama, yes!" She squealed, climbing off of my lap and sitting next to me so she could see the book better.

"Okay, be quiet though you little monkey, the others are still asleep." I chuckled at her excitement.

I opened the book and started reading. "Alice was beginning to get very tired of sitting on the bank, and of having nothing to do. Once or twice she had peeped into the book her sister was reading, but it had no pictures or conversations in it."

As the book was an adaptation and a smaller version for children with pictures and drawings, we quickly got to the part where there were all of the creatures from Wonderland. Y/N pointed to a picture and asked. "What are their names?"

"Well, Mama knows them in russian, honey. шляпник, чеширский кот, белый кролик, гусеница. (Hatter, the cheschire cat, the white rabbit, the caterpillar). Can you repeat that for me?" I asked, pointing to each of the characters.

"шляпник, чеширский кот, белый кролик, гусеница. (Hatter, the cheschire cat, the white rabbit, the caterpillar)." She repeated perfectly without stuttering.

"Good job, my love!" I cheered, squishing her cheeks and planting a kiss on the tip of her nose as she giggled.

We then continued the book for a while, until I saw her eyes close a little bit.

"Honey, you're tired. We'll continue the book tomorrow, okay?" I cooed, closing the book.

"No! Not tired!" She yelled, rubbing her eyes with her knuckles as an attempt to stay awake.

"Okay, okay." I frowned, opening up the book again and continuing to read.

A few minutes later, as I was flipping one of the pages, I heard muffled snoring. I took a look at my daughter, only to find her snuggled up with Milo, finally asleep. I sighed in contentment, brought the duvet back up to us, then pulled her close to my chest. I inhaled her scent, looked out the window, and hoped this moment could last forever.

AUTHOR'S NOTE : Hi everyone! I've decided to start investing myself more in my writing, so I hope you guys like this! I've always loved to write, but most of the stories in this book aren't exactly well written since they're just the result of little scenarios I get in my head every once in a while. But from now on, I wanna write better, so I hope you're excited. Have a wonderful day or night, wherever you're from. I love you<3
