Cigarettes make the room blue
Yellow spotlights make the stage glow
Red curtains hide backstage
Where the controversy happens
No white act has ever played the Apollo
But Buddy Holly and the Crickets are about to change that
And soon
It won't be jungle music
Or the devil's words
It'll just be
Rock & roll
And we can all enjoy it
