I'm on a plane.
About to take off.
He replies almost instantly.
are you okay?
I'm fine, just a little antsy about taking off
as per usual
I understand that. I know it can be a little
nerve-racking, but I promise everything
will be okay. Listening to music might help
take your mind off things until you get
up in the air?
I know two great albums you could listen
to if you need any recommendations ;)
I roll my eyes to myself at Harry's second message, but I decide to take his advice nonetheless. I fish around for my earbuds and once I locate them, it only takes a few moments before Harry's voice is singing in my ears. I decide to send a quick photo to him in the interest of time because I only have about a minute before I need to put my phone in airplane mode, making sure my earbuds are visible so he knows I'm following his instruction. I give the camera a thumbs up and send the photo without a second thought. I don't even realize the mistake I've made until Harry's reply comes in right as I go to tap the small airplane icon on my screen:
nice jumper 😏
I feel heat flush my cheeks and I chuckle slightly at myself, realizing that even despite my best efforts, I've managed to reveal that fact that I'm wearing his brand when he's not around. Before I embarrass myself even more, I officially put my phone on airplane mode, using my flight as an excuse to delay my response to Harry until I think of something clever to respond with...
Four days later
Harry texts me at 9am sharp to let me know that he's outside waiting for me. We're flying to Mexico today for the Lights Up shoot and my nerves have been a mess for the last couple of days. This is the first time in my life that I've ever doubted my abilities so heavily, and I know it's because I care a lot about what Harry and his fans think of my work. Generally, the only people who really care about runway fashion are people within the industry, which of course is incredibly important, but it's a much smaller sample size to worry about. Working with Harry is a whole different ball game; not only do I have to worry about what my friend thinks of my work, but also his entire fanbase and the general public.
I do my best to shake off the nerves as I grab my suitcase and garment bag and walk out of my front door. As I approach the black SUV, Harry steps out of the vehicle to help me with my luggage.
"Oh, Harry its fine I've got it." I assure him.
"I'm sure you do, but let me help you anyway." He says smiling as he grabs my suitcase from me as I roll my eyes and give in.
Once we both get into the car, Harry informs me that we'll be flying to Mexico in a private jet.
"S'just easier that way, since a lot of people are traveling there as well." He explains as I nod in understanding.
