While reading CRYPTID, you may have noticed rather specific descriptions of t-shirts and logos and such. This is because I had a very clear picture of these things in my head. By day I work as a designer so I, well, I designed them!

I'm adding them here as some fun bonus content!

I'm also considering making prints and shirts with these designs so let me know if you're interested!

The Pulp Fiction Cover

...Penelope wondered how many of them were here for the impending Raven festival. Judging by the deep purple t-shirts emblazoned with various graphics of The Raven—including one particularly striking one that looked like it had been torn from a fifties sci-fi magazine cover—some of the campers definitely were.

This is not what the Raven actually looks like! (Imagine that—the thought of it made me laugh

This is not what the Raven actually looks like! (Imagine that—the thought of it made me laugh.) This is more in line with the silly statue in the centre of Ridgestone and the hokey imagery that Gunnar came up with as a sort of red herring.

I also drew the illustrations for this cover. I actually really enjoy making retro pulp fiction style covers. That'd be my ideal job, honestly, though something tells me they're not hiring for that anymore...

The Campground T-Shirt

"Thanks! I designed it!" said Lyla, holding out the hem of hers so they could get a better look. They were all decked out in matching teal t-shirts, emblazoned with a mid-century modern logo bearing the name of their campground, though Henry's was half-hidden under his flannel shirt.

From Chapter 32 of CRYPTID

When I wrote the above passage, I had such a vivid image of what that shirt looked like that I couldn't help but whip it up

When I wrote the above passage, I had such a vivid image of what that shirt looked like that I couldn't help but whip it up. I might make one for myself! If I can find the right shade of teal shirt... Let me know if you'd want to pick one up for yourself.

I suspect a few people will ask where Ridgestone is if you wear it, but I guess you'll have to tell them that it only exists in this great little book called CRYPTID. 😛
