Chapter 15: Strings

Start from the beginning

"Where?" I asked and acted confused as if it was just an illusion. He sighed.

"Uh- behind you?" I admit defeat so I just let him play.

"I have a one other secrete that I didn't say to you." He looked at me while playing something on the guitar he was holding. "What?" I listened.

"I once covered a song on YouTube." The moment that I've been waiting for so long to be revealed.

"I knew it already." I just replied to it plainly.

"You did?" His eyes was widened that I can see the white.

"The guitar, the voice, and the vibe, it was definitely you." He looked like he wants to be swallowed by the floor.

"Damnit! I shouldn't have made that account." He was obviously shy.

"It was a talent. As I heard you sang on that video, I just felt like it was a song, sang  by an Angel." I debated.

"I- I don't think this should be a topi-" I also spoke at the same time "Yeah! I know but to break this awkwardness, we should at least make a topic." I raised my right eyebrow.

He sighed.

"I just wish that you could at least tell me what you should've said to me back then." We made eye contact. "Tell you what?—- About leaving?"

"It's your fault it was such a rush. I could at least do something so that I could tell you, that...." He hmm? But I instantly break our eye to eye to prevent words to fall from my lips.

"What's the difference between telling me now, and telling me back then?" It was confusing for him but for me, it wasn't.

"Th difference between telling you back then was probably because of the chances I have, and the connection we had." I just smiled.

"I see..." he just smiled and started to strum the guitar.

"If you knew about my channel you probably know the song that I sang." I nodded.

"Of course I do!" He smirk.

"Then let's sing it." He suddenly strum the chords and made an intro.

"I'm so tired of love songs, tired of love songs
Tired of love songs, tired of love
Just wanna go home, wanna go home
Wanna go home, whoa..."

"So you will sing an acoustic version?" He just raised an eyebrow as I started to duet with him.

"So tired of love songs, tired of love songs
Tired of love songs, tired of love
Just wanna go home, wanna go home
Wanna go home, whoa"

I suddenly sang in front of him. It was the first time that I let someone hear my voice sing.

As we jam for a minute, we forgot about the past.

"I just wish this moment could last long." He was staring right straight to my soul. "I never said we can't." I just looked back at him and smiled.

"Maechi, thank you for being my friend even after the things I did and the attitude that I showed to you.

"Lee Heeseung, thank you also for putting a tune to my life." We just stared and accept the past and focus on the future.

The beginning was never meant to be a happy ending.

We met people, and build connections. But time will come that we will walk on our different paths, thinking it's the end.

But we will never know that we will meet once again... coincidentall.

But will our labels stays the same as how it was, the last moment we were before?

As for me, maybe.... just friends.

Our bond was like Strings. When it breaks, the music won't play the same.

The tune won't play as lovely as it played before it breaks.

That means, everything was meant to change...

Nothing will stay the same.
