"Hi sorry we are in a bit of a rush," Nancy said to the lady with a feign look of innocence on her face as she lied about why she had rung the bell so many times, so quickly, "could we get the keys to the basement archives?"

"Please?" Adira quickly added as she looked at the librarian with a small and kind smile on her face, "school project."

"Of course, just give me one sec," the librarian says as she sends Nancy a small glare and then smiles kindly over at Adira before she turned around and left the front desk to go and find the keys out the back

As soon as she left, Robin turned around to look over at Nancy, "did I come off mean or condescending or something?" Robin asked the girl in guilt, she hadn't meant to upset Nancy and she definitely had no intentions to do that

"No," Nancy said and gave Robin a small look before quickly looking away from her, pursing her lips with a sour look on her face. Adiras face scrunched up in distaste as she looked at Nancy in annoyance

"Right," Robin said as she finally realised why Nancy was acting so salty towards her, "sorry it is just you seem annoyed," Robin explained to her, "you don't know me very well. I don't really have a filter or a strong grasp of social cues."

"Okay," Nancy replied and gave her a fake smile. Adira had had enough, she wasn't going to just stand there and do nothing as Nancy continued to be rude to Robin, who had done absolutely nothing wrong and was here to help. Robin didn't deserve the way that Nancy was treating her and Adira thought that Nancy was actually being really petty.

"Seriously Nance, I love you but you seriously need to chill out and lay back on Robin, I get that you dated my brother and all, but that doesn't mean that you have the right to judge every other girl that my brother talks too. First of all, as far as I know, Robin and Steve aren't even a thing no matter how great I think they would be together might I add... because Robin is actually super cool and caring and loyal and sweet and courageous and smart..." Adira ranted.

Robin felt butterfly's fluttering around her stomach as she looked down at the shorter girl who was sticking up for her. Adira's brunette eyebrows were scrunched up slightly and her cheeks had gone slightly red. It didn't matter how tired and worn out Adira looked right now, Robin thought she was absolutely gorgeous, a piece of art that belonged in a famous museum

"Either way, I think that if you just put all that Steve shit aside and just got to know Robin, I think you'd actually really like her and would make a great team," Adira explained to Nancy who was looking at her with slightly widened eyes which kept flickering between Robin and Adira, "like c'mon the three of us working together... we would be a force to be reckoned with, we'd be like female Luke, Leia and Hans," Adira tried to think of a good terminology, "ohhh or like Charlie's angels."

Nancy opened her mouth to say something, but no words managed to come out. She didn't know what to say. She knew that she was acting petty, but she couldn't help it. And the truth was, she didn't like that Robin had no filter and the fact that she always talked so much, but most of all, she didn't like the fact that Robin hung out to much with Steve and Adira.

Adira and Nancy were really close, and seeing Adira be best friends with Robin annoyed her because she felt like Robin was stealing her best friend

And while she didn't want to admit it, she still had feelings for Steve, especially now that Jonathan was practically ignoring her

"Look Nancy, if I say something that upsets you, just know that I know that it's a flaw. Believe me, my mother reminds me daily," Robin explained to Nancy

"Got it." Nancy replied with a small nod, making Adira roll her eyes for what felt like the hundredth time that day. How hard would it be for Nancy to just act civil, while Adira appreciated that Nancy wasn't actually saying rude things about Robin, her whole attitude right now was really pissing her off

"No Robin, it's not a flaw, it's one of the many things that I love about you okay?" Adira explained to Robin who was clearly getting upset with the situation she was currently in. Robin blinked a few times and replayed the words in her head, by now she was practically as red as a tomato and she was surprised that neither Adira nor Nancy had noticed this by now. Robin looked down towards the ground, doing everything in her power to not let them see her red cheeks

Adira saw Robin look down and thought that she was looking down in sadness. She turned over to look at Nancy again, "Nancy I'm serious, cut it out alright. If you keep acting like this, we are going to have a problem."

"A problem? Adira I'm meant to be your best friend, why are you acting like this?" Nancy asked her with a scoff

"Why am I acting like this? You can't be serious right now Nancy," Adira asked her in disbelief, "and you are one of my best friends, but so is Robin, so I can't just sit here and do nothing while you treat her like this." Adira motioned over to Robin who was still looking down at the ground

"Well it's good to see where you loyalties lie," Nancy muttered out and looked away from her

"Oh my god Nancy, you're being ridiculous right now," Adira tried to explain to Nancy, she never acted like this and she didn't know why she was acting like this right now

"I'm being ridiculous?" Nancy asked her with a scoff

"Yeah, yeah you are," Adira snapped back, crossing her arms and turning away from Nancy.

Nancy just ignored Adira and Robin and waited silently for the older lady to come back with the keys

"Alright ladies, here you go. Have fun," the librarian said with a warm smile. Nancy reached out to grab the keys but the lady pulled them away from her and handed them over to Adira who took them with a wide grin

"Thank you ma'am," Adira said with a kind smile before winking over at Robin who was trying hard not to laugh at what had just happened.

"Yep, we will try," Nancy said and gave the other two a weird look before storming off over in the direction of the entrance to the basement.

Adira looped her arm with Robins and gave her a smile, "you okay Rob?" She asked her. Robin finally looked up at her and nodded her head slightly

"Yeah, yeah I'm good," Robin nodded. She was more than good, she was great.

The librarian gave the girls a small look and they both just shrugged their shoulders before following after Nancy

"Well that was eventful," Adira muttered out to Robin, a cheeky grin on her face as she playfully nudged her, trying to cheer her up

"Tell me about it," Robin replied with a sigh and a small chuckle, leaning her body into Adiras slightly as they walked down the stairs
