About: Nico has a nightmare, and as always, Will is there to comfort him. Heavy fluff and hurt/comfort.

-----------------------------------------------------------

William Solace woke up to a guttural scream.

First his demigod instincts kicked in; he scanned the room for monsters. Nothing. When he was 100% sure that there was no danger, he glanced over at his fiancé of a year and a half that was beside him in their bed. Nico di Angelo was sitting up, head in his hands, most likely crying, and his breathing was laboured.

Will knows what's happened; he's seen it too many times to not know.

He reaches a hand over to the raven to soothingly rub his back through his cotton night shirt. Nico's trembling like a leaf in a hurricane.

"Hey, love, what's going on?", the blonde whispers. Even though he was already nearly certain of the situation, he always asks just in case.

Nico rapidly shakes his head muttering out a "It's fine, it's fine."

Will was not convinced. He pulls his beloved's face out of his hands gently and looks into his chocolate eyes. Terror. Pure terror is everything Will sees. Agony, horror, so much fear. His already paper white skin is paler, making him almost seem like a ghost. There are tear tracks down his face and several new ones being made with every passing moment. His pupils are frantically darting around the room, as if waiting for a threat to appear out of nowhere and attack him. It was absolutely, most definitely not fine.

After a few beats of silence and Will giving Nico the most loving, genuinely concerned look he could muster so Nico would understand that it was okay to talk to him, he tentatively asked, "Was it another nightmare?", in hopes of getting the younger to feel understood enough to reach out for the comfort he needed. Nico's sobs got worse as he started shaking (somehow) even harder.

Will's heart shattered at the sight of his love in so much pain. He held Nico and manoeuvred him into his lap, his legs crossed, and Nico's folded over to the side. The blonde held him lightly in case the Italian wanted to pull away, but when Nico just grabbed onto Will and circled his legs around his waist, the taller firmly wrapped his arms around him with his left hand cradling the back of his head.

"But it wasn't a nightmare! It was real, Will, I was there!", he got out in between sobs.

"Not anymore, baby. Now you're here and you're safe with me," Will whispered, "I'm not letting you go ever again. You're gonna be okay, I'll protect you."

"No, you won't! You won't! You're going to leave me! That's what they told me!", he desperately said, still sobbing against Will's chest.

"They're wrong. So wrong, angel. I would never ever leave, Nico. I love you far too much to ever be able to do that. You mean the whole world to me, Neeks, you're so beautiful and strong, and caring, and kind, smart, and everything I'll never be. You're so compassionate and understanding and so, so, so loving. You're so amazing, darling, I'd be an idiot to leave you.", during Will's rant, he had started rocking Nico back and forth in hopes to calm him down.

It wasn't working.

"It's okay, you're okay, love. You're safe with me. Shhhh, it's alright. I love you so much, Nico. I won't let you go, darling.", the blonde soothed, still rocking Nico back and forth, holding the back of his head, and rubbing his back.

Nico was starting to calm down, slowly but surely. Will pulled his face out from the crook of his neck and stared into the raven's big doe eyes. He picked up Nico's hand and rested it on his own bare chest.
