THE End - Happiness

"Run to me, Dr. Cha."

Mi-jo was the one who preferred a mix of the traditional Korean wedding and incorporating it with more western elements. "It's different, I know. But, I am different. Our family is different," she insisted.

She wanted to recognise their country's tradition because her fiancé had been serving this beloved nation for a while and Mi-jo wanted to recognize and honor his service. However, she also wanted the western weddings where close people to them could take part.

Joo Hee had supported her all these years and they had been leaning on each other more after Chan-young passed. "I promised Chan-young that it will be you and me together when she's gone. I want you to be part of my very special day," Mi-jo reminded Joo Hee a few days before.

And, of course, Hoon.

The boy that captured her heart in the orphanage. The boy that brought so much light in her life after a dark period of dealing with the death of a best friend. And the boy who recognized the man who would complete their family.

The same man who she would be meeting at the altar.

Hoon looked up smiling at Cha Mi-jo. "You look like a fairy, Eomma!"

"Do I?" Mi-jo asked, swirling her gown.

"Yes," Hoon hugged her. "And like a fairy, you made my wishes come true! You gave me a home, you gave me an Eomma and you gave me an Appa. Oh, that Eomma is you."

As was the usual effect of her son's words, Mi-jo teared up. "Oh, Hoonie. You make me so happy!"

Hoon held Mi-jo's face and stared into her eyes. "Are YOU happy, Eomma? I love Appa as an Appa, but do you love him as a... not Appa?"

Husband. Perhaps her son meant as a husband but he wasn't so familiar with the word yet. He just knew that the love of a parent to a child was different from the love between spouses. After all, Hoon was the one who told her that some boys are friends and some boyfriends become an Appa.

Mi-jo nodded. "Yes, I love him very much. He makes my heart very happy."

Hoon patted her head. "Very good, Eomma." Taking her hand, he continued, "Can we marry him now? I can't wait to show him that I can write my new name well!"

Yes, Hoon ran on the white carpet leading him to his father, who welcome him with open arms. "Happy Marry Day, Appa!"

"Thank you, Buddy," Dae-sik said.

As the music for Mi-jo's entrance played, Hoon whispered, "Eomma is BEAUTIFUL."

"She always is, Buddy. She always is," Dae-sik agreed.

At the end of that day,

Cha Mi-jo and Park Dae-sik were husband and wife.

Their son was now Park Hoon.

The law and society now officially recognized what they had known for some time now.

Mi-jo, Dae-sik and Hoon were family.
