A/N: Double update to make up for the days I didn't post. I hope you like them!

---

"Go on inside, children. I have to speak to Mr. Ko first."

Once Tae Gu and Hyun Ju were inside, Jung Chung-hwa turned to the director who ran the orphanage. "Will they be taken cared of, Mr. Ko?"

"Yes, Ma'am. However, I just want to ask again. Are you sure you wish to leave them in our care? I understand this is a tough decision for you but it is also difficult for the children," Mr. Ko cautioned, gently.

Jung Chung-hwa turned to where her grandchildren were staring at her from the window.  "You are correct. This breaks my heart. But seeing them hungry daily also hurts. I have to do this. I hope they understand one day that I'm doing this because I love them."

As she turned to leave, Tae Gu ran out to call for her. "Grandmother! Grandmother!"

It took all her willpower to keep herself from taking the children back home with her.

"I'm sorry! I'm sorry for breaking your mirror. I know you said that brings bad luck! Can I make it up to you? Please? Please?" the six-year old little boy begged, hanging onto his grandmother's leg.

Patting his head, she assured, "Why don't you read up and learn about lucky charms, okay? Maybe those are what we'd need."

Tae Gu pouted. "Can't I read at home?"

"This is your home now, little one. Take care of your little sister, understand?" Jung Chung-hwa reminded him.

"Will I see you again, Grandmother?" Tae Gu asked, violently wiping away the tears that have fallen on his cheeks.

"I don't know. Maybe you can ask the moon goddess for favours."

Every night, when everyone was already asleep, Tae Gu would sneak out of bed to check the window if he could see the moon goddess and spoke to her. "Can we please go home already? Hyun Ju seems sad."

"Moon goddess, are you there? Could you please let me know when we could go home? I miss Grandmother."

"Moon goddess, I'm sorry for causing our family bad luck. I broke the mirror and I played with Grandmother's statues. I'll be a good boy. Please please please?"

Some days, his plea was direct to his family. "Please come back, Grandmother? Please come back."

When he couldn't see the moon, he wondered if he had angered the moon as well and his little heart broke a little more. His mind did not yet understand that it was a new moon phase, he just took it as another thing he did wrong.

That was when he read books and discovered symbols of good luck. "Hyun Ju, let's go. We need lady bugs!"

"Why Oppa? Won't they bite us?"

"No. We need them so that we can become a family again."

When they were adopted, he stared at the full moon. "It's not my real family and I miss Grandmother... but thank you, Moon Goddess. I hope Hyun Ju gets all the rice cakes she wants to eat. Please let the new Mother and Father love Hyun Ju. I can wait for someone to love me, I have many lucky lady bugs anyway."

Min Tae Gu stirred in his sleep and felt a numbness in his  left arm.  Turning to the source of his numbness, he couldn't help but smile seeing Chae-yoon snuggled close to him.
