Chapter 1

5th year:

Draco's POV:

Draco was always known to roam the halls at night, slipping past professors, making as little noise as possible, and walking to the astronomy tour. Nobody knew what he did up there, and no one dared to spy on him to check. Only Draco knew what went on there. This night, as Draco walked the halls of Hogwarts, running his hand across the stone walls as he slowly made his way to the tower, but tonight feels different. So when he comes to the tower's steps, he keeps walking. He allows his feet to carry him to wherever they seem to want him to go. Coming to a stopping point, he looks up to see the door to an old, out of use potions classroom, slowly opening the door and walking in. Draco keeps his head glued to the floor at first, letting his confident ficad slip away from him in the comfort of loneliness. Sliding down the door until he meets the cool floor. He sits there for a moment, before he looks up to see a ravishing mirror in front of him, with a gold finishing trim and a message engraved in a language he didn't understand, he stood, looking into the mirror. Startled at first by what he saw. Aware of what the Mirror of Erised did to the minds of those who look forth upon it but unaware that this is what he is being faced with. In the mirror, he was met with an image of himself, only older, with smile lines etched across his face, and a boy- no, a man holding Draco's hand with his head resting on his shoulder. "Harry?" Draco whispered questioningly. Looking into the mirror, a swarm of butterflies encompassed Draco's stomach, allowing him to feel jittery and nervous, looking at the scene in front of him. "I- I don't understand," he continued in his same hushed voice. In this moment he could swear that the temperature around him slightly shifted, becoming slightly warmer. Taking a closer look into the mirror, Draco just chalks this up to the blush creeping onto his cheeks. Once the butterflies subside though, he is faced with an insane amount of dread, as he realizes what he is standing in front of, "This is the Mirror of Erised isn't it?" Draco whimpers slightly. Learning that the sight in front of him, is not a tale of a future, where the boy he loves, loves him as well. Draco sits once again, wrapping his hands around his legs, huddling himself into a small ball, just watching the mirror. It isn't until the sun starts its new journey across the horizon that Draco stands and starts to make his way back to the dormitories. Completely unaware of the entity just behind him.
