When I met Duchess and her kittens, Marie, Toulouse and Berlioz, and saved them from abandonment in the French countryside, the kids looked up to me as something as a father figure.

So was it really a stretch to imagine me and Duchess having kittens of our own? Not really.

Our three kittens are the apples of our eye, and Marie, Toulouse and Berlioz love being older siblings, showing them everything they know.

Henri is our black-furred oldest son; he is cheeky and wise beyond his years, and has a love of classical music, especially Mozart, Beethoven and Chopin, and is great at playing the piano.

Claudette is our calico middle child and only daughter; she is not afraid to speak her mind and is very well-read; everything from Shakespeare to Victor Hugo to the Greek classics, you name it, she's read it!

Our youngest, Pierre, is tortoise-shell, and a budding feline Van Gogh; the amount of time he's had to have paint washed out of his fur is astounding!

From the alley to the high life to promotion to daddy, me and my little family have well and truly made it.
