Chapter 4

Golden Guards POV

*Flashback...*

I had just gotten back from a mission when I was informed Belos had summoned me. I went to see him and he told me scouts went out to detain a highly wanted wild witch, but when they got there they discovered she was terribly sick over a children's cold. Uncle told me he was interested in the wild witch because most witches catch that cold when they're little, that way later in life they don't react this way since their immune system is already fighting against it. He ordered me to go get her from the scouts and bring her back to the castle so he could have a chat with her when she wakes. Why he was so interested, he didn't tell me. But, I felt off about it.

The scouts arrived, landing the ship infront of the bridge. I walked out to meet them and they greeted me. "Get the prisoner and bring her to me. Make it fast. The Emperor does not like to wait." I spoke with authority. One of the scouts ran onto the ship then into a room, and when they came out they were carrying somebody. I paid more attention and that's when I realized it was Y/N Bluebell. She most certainly was a highly wanted witch, I'm confused why uncle wouldn't want her just locked away or petrified immediately. "Be careful sir, she may be contagious, we aren't too sure-" "Did I order you to speak? She won't be contagious, it's a simple children's cold. Give her to me, now." While I spoke I felt my face heat up. Everytime I've interacted with her that always happens, she pushes my buttons and steals my things. The scout placed her in my arms, although she was knocked out her eyebrows were furrowed, as if she was in pain. 'She's really hot' I thought to myself. I made myself blush over how I worded it, considering I didn't mean it how it sounded. If I had said that aloud I wouldn't have let myself live it down, I just meant her body temperature was hot, I'm not saying she isn't good looking, because she is, but uhm yeah.

I was snapped back into reality when the people who "caught" her approached and started arguing with the scouts. "What's the problem here?" I asked with annoyance in my voice. "We want to get paid the bounty for capturing her!" One of the three shouted, pointing aggressively towards Y/N. I laughed at them. "Think about it this way, you wouldn't have caught her if she was in proper health, she would have taken down all three of you. And on top of that, you didn't even deliver her to us yourselves. You aren't getting the reward." I held onto her tighter as I walked away, going back across the bridge. I looked down at her in my arms and how she laid, her arms were laying across her chest and her head was resting against my body. My face felt so hot, I'm never this physical with anyone. I had made it into the castle by this point when suddenly Bluebell started stirring in my arms. She let out a quiet, frustrated groan and rubbed her head against my chest. The noise she made, it sounded cute. My face felt hotter and my stomach felt weird again.

I went to my room and set her down on my bed. I stared at her a moment while she laid there, I couldn't help it. After a minute, I got myself together and grabbed my staff. I went to Belos. I entered his throne room and got on my knee to bow. "Yes Hunter?" He said to me, his voice always sounds warmer towards me than others because we're family, but it still sounds cold in the end. "I've brought in the wild witch, what should I do with her..? I don't know where to put her." I asked. I knew I sounded confused, it's because I was. "Hm, put her in a room close to yours. I want you to check on her often until she wakes. When she's there summon witches from the healing coven to make sure she's alright. I want you to notify me when she wakes so you can bring her to me since we need to have a little chat." I stared at him, "So I won't be doing missions for the rest of today?" I asked, this felt odd. "This is your new mission for today. Other people will handle the missions I assigned you. Now run along, Hunter." I bowed my head and left.

I did what he said. On the way back to my room, I ordered a scout to inform the best members of the health coven to come immediately. Uncle didn't request that the best come, but I want them to. I got back to my room and seen her laying in my bed, she must have rolled around in her sleep since the covers look messed up. That's when I realized she was holding onto something, 'She has my frog!' I threw my mask on the floor and covered my face with my hands, it felt so hot I was frustrated. I breathed for a moment and calmed down then picked up my mask, in the reflection I could see that I was bright red. For a moment I thought she may have woken up and grabbed it, then went back to sleep. But, the more I thought about it, she probably would have escaped if she woke up at all, so she must have done it in her sleep. I felt less embarrassed after that. I put my mask back on and went over to my bed, I moved her arms and took my frog stuffed animal from her slowly so she wouldn't wake up. I put it back under my pillow then picked her up, I understand why uncle is having me do this but I also wish it could have been handled by the scouts. This has been a lot of physical interaction and it's making me feel odd. It makes me feel like I'm sea sick?
