Drunk to send your mind to Heaven for awhile?
It's exhilarating at the start. You're soaring, carefree... and then Reality sets Heaven ablaze and you're hurtling towards the earth in a ball of fire.
Tears blur the image of the leather-bound flask just out of my reach. The pain, the screams of my men as they writhe in the bloody, war-torn mud with me – it's too much. God, please, I don't need it for the thrill, just to send my mind away until the bullet in my gut deafens the world, th-that's all, I swear!
