I was walking when I stopped in front of Alby's Cafe. I went in and saw Benji and Alby talking in the back.
I went to them and sat next to Benji. He and Alby shared a look before he pulled me into a hug
He made me lay down with my head on his lap and I fell asleep fast. But I still could hear Alby and Benji talking
"You should call Blackwood or her father," Benji said
"Go I'll take care of her," Alby said
Benji left and I heard Alby calling someone.
"Owen... Yeah, she's here can you tell her father... Yeah he came back last night... I'll make sure she's safe... bye," Alby said
He picked me up and placed me on the couch in his office before he sat on his chair and went through the paperwork
When I woke up I saw it was 2 am and that Alby was still working.
"You should get some rest," I said making him look up.
"And so should you. Get some more sleep," he said but just shook my head.
"What happened last night?" He asked knowing I won't go back to sleep.
"Lizzy and Jordan fucked each other behind my back. I got drunk and told Cole everything and I think I also kissed him," I said
"No wonder you passed out so fast last night," he said laughing
"I have to go home to get my jeep," I said
"It's 2 am on a Saturday. Go back to sleep," he said
I stood up grabbed my duffel bag and hit the shower. After I was done it was 4 am. I made some breakfast for me and Alby and we sat down and are together.
When it turned 5 he opened the cafe as I went to the back. I finished washing the things we use. When I went back Owen and his sons as well as the triplets whose names I learned were Tyler, Roman, and Viktor came in
"Hey what can I get you guys?" I asked
"Coffee for everyone please," Owen said
"Sure," I said and made coffee for them before taking it to them
"Anything to eat?" I asked
"The kitchen is still closed," Viktor said
"And she's an amazing cook," Alby said coming toward us
"Well then some pancakes for everyone," Noah said
"Sure thing," I said and went to the kitchen.
After making a lot of pancakes I took the wiped cream and the plates to them.
"I hope you enjoy it," I said
"Can we talk," Cole said
"Sure," I said and he grabbed my hand and we walked away from everyone
"May are you okay?" He asked
"Yeah, why wouldn't I be?" I asked
"Springs..." He said
"Don't Cole please everything I told you last night forget it. Last night was a mistake I should have never told you that so just forget it," I said
"No, I'm not just going to forget it springs. Not the conversation and not the kiss," he said
"Dammit Cole, please... Just forget it," I said and went to the kitchen.
I grabbed my phone and told Alby I'd be back later on. I left through the back door and walked home.
When I got there Blake was watching movies and dad wasn't anywhere to be seen.
"Where's dad?" I asked
"Don't know," Blake said
I went to my room and worked looked through some childhood photos. My mom and Owen's wife grew up together and when Cole and I were born we became friends.
I smiled at the photo of my and cole's fifth birthday where I pushed his face into his cake and he hugged me
My phone started ringing so I picked up and saw it was Cole.
"Hey," I said
"Open your window," he said and I immediately did it.
He climbed in and I started walking back to my desk when he grabbed my hand
"Last night wasn't a mistake. That kiss wasn't a mistake," he said
"Yeah it was Cole we can never date," I said
"Why?" He asked
"Because we're friends nothing more. I don't like you like that," I said
"You're afraid that's why..." He said
"I'm not," I said and he smirked and said, "Prove it,"
I rolled my eyes and turned away from him. I sat on the bed just as my father came in
"Dad knock," I said
"Sorry I came in here to tell you, your bother and I'm leaving," he said
"Where?" I asked
"New York City. We'll be there for three days do you want to come with us," dad said
"No I'm fine I still have my last exams to write," I said
"Okay and Cole what are you doing here other than the fact you want to fuck my daughter," Dad said and I turned around groaning
"I didn't sir I came to tell her about my feelings but it seems that she doesn't have any for me," Cole said
"Mmm. Leave," Dad said
Cole looked at me and when my dad cleared his throat he ran out
"Seriously dad," I said
"New rule no boyfriends ever," he said
"Ugh," I groaned and fell face-first onto my bed
"We're leaving in a minute came and say goodbye," I heard dad say.
I followed him out and asked, "Why do you have to leave again you just got here,"
"Baby I know this is hard but I have to. I promise I'll be back," he said and kissed my head
"She said that too," I said and he looked at me with sad eyes before saying, "I love you to the moon and back and nothing will stop me. I'll be back in three days for your birthday I promise,"
"I love you too," I said and hugged him
"I love you guys too," I heard blake say and felt him join our hug
"Please be safe," I said
"We will," Blake said and ruffled my hair before he and dad left.
I watch their car leave and once it was out of my view I saw Lizzy's car pull up
"This day keeps on getting better," I mumble
"I know you don't want to see me right now but I'm only here to give you back your stuff," I heard her say
She got three boxes out of her car and I told her to just leave them on the side. When she was done she smiled at me and said, "I'm happy you're not mad"
"Mad? No, never. He cheated on me before and he will do it to you. I'm just glad we're fucking over. Have a nice life," I said taking my last box and went I side
I slammed the door shut and throw the box on the ground. I sat down and turned the TV on.
