ARLO PLACED A QUICK KISS onto his mother's head. Seeing as the boy was significantly taller than the woman, it wasn't difficult to kiss the top of her head.
He then pulled away from the half-hug, letting Ida hug the woman as his mother spoke kindly. "You both look so cute."
"I do, I don't know about Danny Zuko over here." Ida joked as she pulled away from the hug, holding back a laugh as she caught a glance of her brother's offended face.
"I'm Freddie Mercury." Arlo corrected, shocked by his sister's lack of knowledge.
Ida shrugged, turning back to her mom as she remembered to ask her something. "What time does dad get off?"
"Not 'til four this morning, you have plenty of time." The woman reassured, placing a comforting hand onto Ida's arm. "Now, go. Have fun—don't drink too much."
Her last sentence was directed at Arlo, making the boy hurry and begin to exit the house. "Bye, love you." He semi-yelled while leaving, Ida close behind him.
Once they were out of earshot, Ida turned to Arlo with a smirk. Her excitement to go to the party radiating off of her. "You gonna drink?"
"Hell yeah—i'm gonna get white-girl wasted." Arlo replied, earning laughter from Ida as she unlocked her car. The duo immediately getting in.
