'...squeak....squeak....!'
That was a sound he wasn't all too familiar with. His own sounds of fear would never be like this, and not to mention Candle...
No. She was FAR too peaceful and gentle to ever even have a flicker of a nightmare pass though her mind. Though it did leave another thought slipping through his head.
Someone else had to be in here...
And it was already making him feel so sick. Another pair of eyes could be on him, gazing and observing his fear like a hawk. Maybe even find it fun to observe...
'...squEAk...squEEAK...'
Even if it was just a mouse if some kind, he'd be terrified nonetheless. Every little thing just couldn't help but scare him senseless these days to the point of near weakness.
So gripping into the bedsheets like a child after slipping out of his partner's grip, his previously tired eyes now wide and somewhat bulging as he scanned the room for any evidence of this... whatever it was.
"Oughh... j-just come out and make this easier for all of us. Or just you and I."
The squeaking had fallen silent, causing him to nervously get out of bed and find the only thing that had caught his eye while searching: a rustling pile of towels.
It was hard to say his anxiety had peaked at this, as reaching the pile and gently moving a few towels aside had caused him to wind out picking up something far unlike his thoughts.
A scarf. One that did not seem to be very keen on being picked up at all.
'...sqUEAAAAAK?!'
"AH! Uhm, do-don't make that kind of noise! You could easily disturb somebody-wh-AHCK!"
The scarf's wild and sudden flailing had caused more quietened sounds of shock from who had found her, the pair somewhat 'danced' a bit in this state of shock before a quiet sound of an ignited flame shocked them to silence.
"Hm... I expected as such."
Out of fear, the scarf had quietly scrambled into a position that would make her appear to be yet another towel.
"Ah! C-Candle! You were out cold just a moment ago, how did you-?!"
A small laugh from Candle had accompanied her as she stood up from the bed, quietly taking the trembling scarf out of Silver's somewhat weak arms. To her surprise, even her mixed scent wasn't able to calm this thing down instantly.
"This... this is who I saw Fan and Test Tube had found earlier. Just as I happened to envision her, too..."
"This is how you've seen her?"
"Yes. Including her... apathy towards rest."
The pair had noticed her deep eye bags at the same time, and how she genuinely seemed to be trying to appear as something else to run away and stay awake for another day, also. And while Candle had many an answer to questions, this little case seemed to be an enigma.
"...wouldn't you rather say she's best left in the hands of Te-"
"Her and Lifering's own time will come to learn about her. First it was Fan and Test Tube, and now it's our turn. I believe everyone who's destined to encounter this scarf is set to help her find her way here..."
Though not calmed, the scarf eventually felt content enough to end her facade as a towel and anxiously look at these two objects. Not quite who had found her before, but they seemed okay.
Though she did feel gratitude towards them... she was pretty confident she may have suffocated in those towels if not for the spoon. Why did those towels have to be so thick?
A little while after she had finished up her thoughts, Candle had quietly led the pair back into bed for the time being. Both seemed a speck uneasy, but for the most part they felt safe again.
"Listen... I have a way of communicating with others without words. I shall inform Fan of your absence in a safe matter so you can remain here for the remainder of the night."
While the scarf felt reassured by her words, she still didn't want to doze back off again. The air seemed tense and it was hard to get her mind to peaceful thoughts with all this going on.
Besides, they weren't exactly... Fan...
And her unease was heavily noticed by both Silver and Candle. And the look the latter gave the former sparked a short conversation.
"Were you listening?"
"We both were, but... Yes... it was somewhat akin to singing of some kind."
"Ah. I'm more potent in humming than full on singing myself. Silver, can you...?"
"I-I think humming will work okay. I could try and pet it a bit while you do that..."
"Combined actions... I see. We shall try that."
So quietly scooping the scarf up into a lavender-scented embrace, Candle had waited a moment before starting a gentle process of clearing her throat while Silver's somewhat shaky hand had rested atop her head.
The scarf still seemed rather startled, but this lavender and chamomile scent was quick to settle her down. It was a surprisingly peaceful revelation, but welcome. Then the joint effort of the humming and little petting had began with shocking efficiency.
It barely even took half of the hummed song to send her into a very deep sleep, probably so deep she wouldn't wake up and wander off again. The two objects were content with the result, and it took a light blowing of a flame to prompt the pair of them to join her.

Yet in the hours of the morning, the pair had awoken to find the scarf missing. Though originally rather concerned, a quiet door knocking had prompted Silver with a fairly happy looking Fan with the formerly missing object looking far happier in his arms.
"Hi. Thanks for yesterday."
"You're welcome. I'm curious on why she wound up coming to us despite being very happy with you."
"Ah, I'm sure me and Testy will uncover something. We plan on doing a bit of behaviour analysis later if you'd care to join us?"
"Actually... while Candle may be willing to help there, I believe I know somebody who can stand in for me."

Fiksi PenggemarA typical study on local geology goes awry when Test Tube encounters an object foreign to the show. And for once, she doesn't go all mad scientist when it comes to taking the little thing under her and Fan's wings.
