Two weeks later...

things were going well with your pregnancy, In just a few short weeks you'd be In your ninth month which meant the baby would be due soon, Kokomi had settled In well within the Estate and one night, she even taught Thoma to make the cuisine of Watatsumi Island for dinner, as of late you'd been feeling more sluggish and tired, but most of all you started having pains not just In your back anymore but other places, and at times it was difficult for you to sleep

It was almost dinner time, you were sitting in the main hall beside Ayato with your head on his shoulder, he had his arm around you as you were rubbing your large round stomach, It daunted on you now more than ever, the fact that this child would be born next month

you took in a breath; Ayato rubbed your shoulder "are you alright love?"

you nodded, "yes I'm alright, I was just thinking I'll be giving birth next month"

"Indeed, you and our child will be alright, don't worry our family physician will be there and also a Midwife"

you then remembered, "Oh, that reminds me, I haven't selected a midwife yet have I?"

Ayato nodded, "no but don't worry, we'll take care of that soon"

he kissed your forehead, he then rubbed your stomach as he then got up to lean down, he rested his head carefully on your stomach as he listened, "I believe I can hear her heartbeat"

you smiled as you placed your hand In his hair, Ayato then started to talk to your baby 

"We can't wait to see you, our little one, come out safely and please be gentle with your mother"

he then kissed your clothed stomach, Ayato then came back up as he put his arm around you once more, you leaned into his embrace, continuing to take in the peaceful evening and cool breeze, but just then Keiko came to the main hall, 

she bowed, "My Lady, your lordship, dinner's ready"

Ayato gave a nod, he then helped you to stand up and Keiko supported you from the other side, you rested a moment before you then started walking, and they supported you all the way to the dining room, Ayaka and Kokomi were already at the table, they waved to you 

you went to sit down on one of the tatami mats, and Ayato came to your side as he helped you, and Thoma came out from the kitchen as he brought dinner, for tonight It was Mixed Yakisoba and you were glad that you'd be able to eat the same as everyone else for once, you all gave thanks to Baal before you started eating, and midway Kokomi started telling a story 

"I remember when (Y/n) was eight, we'd just become friends and we'd often go around the city together, one day when we were eating Sakura Mochi the bench underneath us gave way, and we both fell into the water behind us, I was laughing however but she was crying so much,"

you blushed in embarrassment, "Kokomi please, it was because I was all wet and cold"

Ayato let out a chuckle, "the same happened with Ayaka and I, her fan got blown away In the wind and she ran to catch it, she fell Into the water and I saved her, but it then turned into a water fight, but afterwards she cried about her Kimono being ruined"

Ayaka covered her face with the fan, "Brother please don't tease,"

Thoma let out a chuckle, "I can attest for that as I was there, apologies your ladyship"

Ayaka blushed, she then cleared her throat as she continued to eat, Kokomi continued telling more childhood stories and It brought you so much nostalgia, but also embarrassment 

you cleared your throat, "well then Kokomi, shall I tell the story about the fish"

Kokomi put her hands up, "oh! no please!"

you then giggled, "I was joking, I'd never tell a soul Kokomi, forgive me"

Kokomi let out a sigh of relief, before she started to giggle and then told the story herself which made everyone laugh, It was a fun dinner and you'd never seen Ayato laugh that much, afterwards Thoma had brought some berry Mizu Manju for dessert before you stayed up a little longer, soon retiring for bed as you and Ayato went to your bedroom

once there, Ayato brought his arms around you and you held him back, he rubbed your back 

"are you sleepy dear"

you nodded, "yes, tonight was fun though"

Ayato smiled, "It was, and I even got to hear some stories about you In childhood"

you blushed, "darling"

he chuckled, "I'm sorry, I'm not teasing you In anyway, forgive me love"

you then giggled, "all is forgiven, but you don't have to apologize, It was truly funny"

Ayato smiled as he then kissed your hand, "let's retire for the night"

you smiled with a nod, you kissed before he then called for Keiko, she came In with a bow as Ayato left to go change as well, Keiko helped you out of your Kimono and she stored it away, before bringing your sleep Yukata and you slipped it on, Keiko then tied the thin Obi, you took the pin from your bun, letting your hair cascade down your back and Keiko brushed It,

"Are you scared?"

you turned, "hm? of what"

Keiko started, "you'll be giving birth next month,"

you rubbed your stomach, "I am a little, but I know everything will be fine"

Keiko smiled, "that's good to keep in mind, I can't wait to meet the little lady or lord"

you smiled, Keiko then got up with a bow as she took her leave for the night, Ayato soon returned wearing his sleep attire as well, he slid the doors closed behind him as he then blew out the candle, before he came over to your side on the futon

he caressed your cheek, "how do you feel?"

you smiled, touching his hand "I'm alright, just tired from the day"

Ayato nodded, he kissed your forehead as you then laid down, he brought the comforter over you as he then lied down too, putting his arm around you as you relaxed together 

you inched closer to him, closing your eyes "goodnight darling"

he rubbed your back, "goodnight my love"

after a few minutes you started drifting off to sleep, but then half an hour later you started feeling discomfort, you turned over as you rubbed your stomach, It really hurt but you tried your best to go back to sleep, only to soon wake up again as It was getting to be too much 

Ayato opened his eyes, looking to see you sitting up, "what's wrong?"

your eyes were watery, "It's just...It's so painful"

Ayato sat up as he rubbed your stomach in circles, before he brought you to rest against him as he continued the motion, Ayato didn't care if he lost sleep right now, he'd stay up with you until you felt better even If It took the whole night, and the same could be said for the birth 

a tear streamed down your cheek, you sniffled "It hasn't hurt this much before"

Ayato nodded, "I know, you'll be alright love it'll stop In a bit,"

he wiped the tears that fell from your eyes, holding you close as he rubbed your stomach continually, it pained him to see you like this and unable to do anything, eventually awhile later you felt much better and Ayato looked down to see you asleep, he smiled warmly before placing a kiss to your brow, he then laid down and guided you with him as he held you in his arms.
