It has been over two years since Kate's idyllic life has turned into ashes. First, it was her older sister's fatal overdose. Then, it was her home swallowed by flames, her parents killed in the process. And now, everyone seems to have moved on. Everyone but the teen girl.
With doubtful circumstances around her sister's death and odd questions sorrounding her parents' passing, someone begins to leave sliver of evidence to the teenager. Pieces of a complex and gruesome puzzle deeply tied to her family. Not knowing who is sending them--nor their reasons why--Kate will have to be careful of who she trusts and where she goes digging through.
She believes her sister wasn't an addict. She remembers her parents had a cryptic argument three nights before the fire. She knows her older brothers are keeping secrets from her--she is keeping a few from them as well. And she feels, deep inside, something lurking in the shadows.
A horrible conspiracy unravels. Decades old secrets float to the surface as dark truths come to light. Unlikely bonds are formed and loyalties are tested. Kate is about to spark a fire that will turn everything she knows--or thinks she does--into ashes. And after that, what will be left?
