In the last few weeks, Riley has noticed that Mac has grown his hair out a lot, it really didn't bother him at all, it was just weird.

She remembers that when she met him she had long hair and it looked great, some time later she cut it and to be honest, she looked great too

But a few weeks ago after a mission in Las Vegas where it was just him and Russ he had gotten a little weird, not enough for her to care but enough for her to notice.

She had asked him if she would cut it and he only replied that she wanted to grow it out and now she had it even longer than she had grown it before.

She hadn't taken much notice of it because to tell the truth she liked her long hair but it was two days ago when something strange caught her attention

They were watching movies on the sofa, she was sitting next to the armrest while Mac was lying with his head on her lap, she was running her hands through his hair when he reached the back of his neck and as if the simple action burned him he got up immediately

She excused herself by saying that she was sleepy that they should go to sleep, that was strange but it didn't matter that much, but yesterday there was something that caught her attention completely

After the typical morning run Mac came home while she was in the kitchen eating cereal, he was very sweaty and his hair was damp

She watched as he ran his hand through her hair until she reached the back where she moved the hair that covered the nape of her neck a little and that's when she noticed the black stain.

I can't quite see what it was exactly but that definitely aroused curiosity and whatever she was hiding she had something to do with her long hair

Now she was in bed while he took a shower, after a few minutes he came out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around her waist and another towel drying her hair

He smiled at her as he walked to his closet looking for something to wear, he thought about waiting a bit to ask later but his curiosity won and he got straight to the point.

"why don't you cut your hair?" she asked, Mac stopped short before her question and turned to see her

"You don't like my long hair?" asked Mac a little nervous and ignoring your question

"Not at all, I like your long hair, but it's a little strange that you want it long out of the blue" Riley said

"Well I just wanted to try something new" said Mac

"Is that it, or are you hiding something from me?" Riley looked at him serious

"no, just…" she fell silent not knowing what excuse to look for

She got up from the bed and walked towards him until they were facing each other.

"You know you can tell me anything, whatever you're hiding, that's fine, I can wait until you're ready to tell me" Riley said

Mac looked into her eyes and let out a soft sigh "fine, but it's better if I show you"

He took her hand and guided her to the bed, he sat with his back so she could get a good look at what she had been hiding for the last few weeks.

When he lifted the hair that was in the back she could see what was on the nape of his neck.

A tattoo

I slowly ran her fingers over each letter that was on her skin, she couldn't believe it.

"You got my name tattooed on you," Riley said in amazement.

"Yes, after the mission, Russ and I may have drunk more than the gutter when we were in a bar, I don't remember exactly what happened but I do remember walking past a tattoo shop and all I thought was that I wanted the name of the love of my life written on my skin" explained Mac

"I didn't tell you because I thought you might be mad or you wouldn't like it, I was going to tell you at some point but I didn't know how" Mac said

Riley for her part listened intently to every word she said as her fingers continued to slowly trace the letters of her name.

"Mac... I don't know what to say" Riley said

"You don't have to say anything, I'll understand if this bothers you because I should have asked you before doing it but at that moment I was drunk and I could only think that…. That this is a way to show you that I am completely yours" he turned to see to Riley

"I'm not upset, it's just that this is the most beautiful and stupid thing that someone has done for me, because a tattoo is forever and if we're not together forever? And if one day we break up? And if I'm not the love of your life? And….." before she could express all her fears Mac shut her up with a kiss

"That's not going to happen" Mac said once he pulled away from the kiss

"How are you so sure?" Riley asked

“Because I love you, more than I have loved another person and I will never let you go, and if for some reason in the universe it turns out that you are not the love of my life, I will say a thousand times that I made a mistake in life and not in love, because loving you is not a mistake and I will be happy bearing the name of my love forever"

Riley smiled happily before leaning down to kiss him again, she ran her hands slowly down his neck to the nape of his neck pulling him closer to her.

"I love you Angus" she whispered against her lips.

"I love you too Riles" he said smiling

"So now you're going to cut your hair? It's not because I don't like your hair, it's just that I want the whole world to know that Angus MacGyver is mine alone," Riley said.

"of course" Mac said

Riley laughed before Mac captured her lips once more as he gently pushed her back onto the bed.

"You don't wait for me to get your name tattooed too, do you?" Riley asked suddenly

Mac let out an audible laugh "no, I'm fully aware of how much you hate needles, I'll be fine with you telling me that you're only mine forever"

"I'm only yours Angus, forever" he said in a whisper

The rest of the afternoon she spent happily knowing that they belonged to each other
