A young lady named Lisa is a student of magical arts whom lives and trains in the city of Vesuvia.

Tonight, the evening fog is thick, blanketing the street in an ethereal, milky glow. So pretty, she thought as she lingered at the window to appreciate the tranquil scene, before drawing the curtains shut.

"I'll miss you."

She turned to face the male with a small frown on her lips, "Must you leave tonight?" She said with a sigh. He straightened his posture before replying, "It's the dead of a moonless night. The right time for beginning a journey." What a typical Jin thing to say.

His eyes twinkle in the low lamplight as he stares into her own, "Here... take this. For you to play around with while I'm gone." He says with his arm extended.

A gift? How unusual.

"My tarot deck." He continues, causing her eyes to widen. That's the last thing she expected him to give her. The tarot deck is Jin's own creation. Imbued with great power.

"You think I'm ready, Master?" She asked with a small lopsided smile, watching his cheeks turn a light pink with his eyes briefly dropping to the floor.

"You're still calling me that.." his eyes trailed back up to hers, "You know I can't answer that for you. You've made incredible progress, but you still won't let go of your doubt. Do you think you're ready?"

She grew frustrated by his response. "Why don't you ever answer my questions?" She said with her brow slightly raised.

This time, his eyes widened, "I don't?" He paused briefly, "Well, I may not have all the answers you seek. But, the cards do. If you know how to use them. And you do know how to use them, whether you believe it or not." Master Jin has that look in his eye as he pulls back the curtain leading to the backroom before looking back at her, "Let's see how well you've learned." A few rays of starlight peek through the gauzy curtains. "It's been a while since we've practiced." He continued.

"Because I've perfected it?" She said confidently with her arms crossed which he reciprocated with a small smirk and his brow lifted.

"Have you now? You really are gifted. I shouldn't have expected any less. Well, then. Let's see that perfect technique." He's always going on about how powerful and gifted she is. His confidence is heartening, but she doesn't know where it comes from.

Once they are seated, something brushes along her ankle, smooth and cool. "Oh?" Jin says, he reached down from his chair and holds out his hand. A long purple serpent winds her way up to his arm. She flicks her tongue at Lisa. It's Faust, Jin's familiar.
