The Hacker Files: Defalt Settings

As Marcus and Ethan arrived at the Re:Mind research facility at Marin. The Facility looked closed on the outside but was truly a way to hide what was going on within. Ethan and Marcus were at a side door holding their pistols. Marcus had his hand to his side. He counted down from three and kicked the door open. Men with guns were already running at them. The thing is Marcus is an excellent Marksman and Ethan is a Double-0, so they are extremely talented gunmen. The bullets shot left and right as the hired mercenaries died in the rain of bullets. They were running here to there. Eventually the enemy fire stopped and it got silent. Marcus sighed "I sense the two are already gone." The two quietly walked around looking for data and the Re:Mind project." The announcement speaker tuened on and Defalt's voice spoke "Marcus and someone new... Did Ray screw up so badly you replaced him? Just get wrench back! I wanna play with the psycho..." Marcus groaned "THEN PLAY WITH YO'SELF BITCH!" He walked faster looking for Defalt "Ethan! Let's spread out. We might find Dr0ps." Ethan quietly nodded and walked the other way. He found himself in an empty office. It looked like Defalt's laptop on the desk so he naturally walked to it. Just as he touched it he heard a gun click behind him. Defalt was holding microphone in the other hand that was turned off "Hands off of my stuff 'Ethan.' Resoect my privacy will you. Also drop the gun." Ethan turned around and tossed the gun to Defalt "Perfect. Now you will come with me or die." Ethan frowned annoyed "You really are insane aren't you..." Defalt's sadistic laugh was common by now as he laughed at his reply "Insane? WELL NO SHIT! That's all Dedsec's fault! Now FOLLOW!" Ethan decided to follow bothered.

Marcus was in some storage. There were narrow hallways of metal shelves with some canisters of chemical gases. He looked at one that looked different though... The other canisters were gray and labelled 'Re:Mind' but one was black and labelled 'Re:Spawn.' Marcus too heard a gun click and Dr0ps looked at him with his red eyes. He was wearing his suit "The fountain of youth Marcus... Re:Spawn is an operation of mine. Combinition of Re:Mind and a rare chemical. It modifies one's body to make them immortal. They can die but they will regenerate in a 20 meter radius a bit like in a video game. See why i named it that?" Marcus looked at him confused "This is the only one? The seed of literal fucking immortality." Dr0ps smiled "Correct Marcus. Me and Defalt planned to use it and never die. Though using it now would be dumb... We wait for the opportune moment." Marcus pointed his gun at Dr0ps while he pointed at Marcus. "You really wanna have a stand off Marcus? If you miss you'll hit the canisters and get a load of Re:Mind to the face." Soon they heard Defalt "I found the newbie!" He showed up from behind a corner pointing a gun at Ethan. Marcus groaned "Fine... You win..." He was putting his gun down. "But Dr0ps..." He let go of the gun revealing a small bomb attached to it "I'm a smart guy." He kicked the gun at Dr0ps. He quickly looked at Marcus "IDIOT! YOU KILLED US AL-" Suddenly Marcus tackled Dr0ps and pushed Ethan away. There was an explosion and a few canisters blew up. The bomb wasn't big and the gas wasn't flammable. Purple smoke covered Marcus and Dr0ps. Ethan and Defalt were in the distance without guns and looked at the purple smoke.

Slowly the smoke cleared revealing 3 people. Dr0ps laid on the floor face down, Marcus laid there too and the other Marcu- Wait, other Marcus? There were two Marcus'. Defalt smoke "If one combines Re:Mind and Re:Spawn they create a clone with the other half of their personality... In thid case the old Marcus is now all serious and the new one is the class clown..." Ethan looked at Defalt "And you didn't mention this earlier?!" Defalt stood up slowly "I didn't expect Marcus to be batshit crazy!" The two Marcus' stood up "Hey Ethan he looks just like me!" The two said in sync. The new Marcus scratched his head. "My name is... Wait, what is my name?" The two looked the same but the new one had purple eyes which is what Re:Mind causes. They have the side effect of giving purple eyes. The original Marcus looked around "Oh, right! Ethan and... New me! RUN!" He threw a c4 at the middle of the room. "NO MORE RE:MIND! The timer is one minute!" The 3 began running in panic leaving Defalt and Dr0ps. Defalt began dragging the unconcious Dr0ps by the leg "Oh you heavy fucker..." The minute passed and the whole damn factory blew to pieces leaving a purple smoke cloud behind. Ethan and the Marcus' looked at each other in the distance "So uhhh... To base?" Ethan spoke. "To base." Said one of the Marcus'. The 3 went to their car in a rush again. Defalt was pushing Dr0ps with his leg "Wake up!" Slowly he did wake up "Defalt... Was your plan to actually create eternal clones..." Defalt shook his head "No... This was all Marcus' brain child. He merely did an unexpected scenario with a bomb. Are you... ok?" Dr0ps stood up "Be honest... How does it look?" He turned around and half of his face was full on white and cracked like glass. His cracked side's eye was purple." Defalt tilted his head "Well... You have half Re:Spawn..? So are you half immortal?" Dr0ps sighed "Our teamwork stops here... Be glad i didn't fucking die... Though i'll get revenge on DedSec. Not now though." He shot Defalt in the hand leaving him hurt on the ground. "Here's to Loyalty." He began walking away "Perico needs me Defalt. And you dissapointed me." Defalt yelled at him "Fine! I don't need you anyways! I'll put a bullet in Ethan's head myself! I'll get a better miltia than your Carribian twats!"

Back at DedSec HQ, the trio arrived. Sitara looked at them shocked "WHAT THE FUCK? Nothing through the comms... NOTHING! And when you return there's two of my best friend?! Explain!" Ethan scratched the back of his head "Inconvenience, Chemical explosion, Two Marcus', Factory blows up, And this. Defalt said the purple eyed Marcus respawns if he dies like in a video game due to some super regenerating chemicals." Original Marcus tilted his head and shot 3 rounds into The new Marcus' head. He fell down dead but the corpse vanished. Everyone looked shocked. From the staircase was a yell "IT WORKS!" New Marcus walked down "Though those bullets made quite a noise." Sitara shook her head "You three deal with this... You know gunshots scare Sara half to death Marcus! Now i need to calm her down!" She stormed off. The new Marcus looked embarassed "Well we share memories but my name... I have no name that is." Original Marcus looked at some headphones "Well imma  maybe listen to some Tunes to cope with this shit." Tun3s put his finger up "TUN3S! My name is Tun3s!" Marcus shrugged "Works for me. But we need to do some background work here. Let us have a long converstation 'Tun3s.' And Ethan, take a break." The duo left to a couch. Ethan decided to go to his room. On his way he heard soft crying from Sara's room. He was about to open the door but Sitara stopped him. "Leave her be... You see she has severe ptsd from her childhood. You see when she was 12 her batshit crazy 16 year old brother killed her mother and attacked her with a pistol... She ran so far as to the board game shop above us. He was about to kill her but i tased him and he was arrested. It's been 6 years but she still fears gunshots to this day...  I became kind of a mother to her. I trained her to hack and such as i adopted her after her mother's death. She is very lonely too... Being anxious in public and slightly depressed doesn't help either. Let her relax, she'll be fine." Ethan nodded "I see... So what about the mission?" Sitara sighed "Leave it be. We'll continue when something shows up. Let's just live life for now. No need to be a workaholic." Ethan gave her a slight smile and went to his room.
