Perilous Mission

Chapter 1: Knowing who you are

MAISIE'S POV

I am not an ordinary girl who wears make-up and hangout with their friends. I do have a lot of friends and just like me, we are all different from those ordinary people out there. Why? Because, we are in a organization in which people hires us to kill. To put it simply, I am a hired assassin. I am currently reading a news article about the Mayor who was shot in his own house when I remembered that we have a meeting by 2:00 P.M

Kaya naman itinabi ko ang cellphone ko at inayos ang sarili. Nakasuot ako ng black tank top paired with silky black jeans. Kinuha ko ang susi ko at nag-drive paalis. Malapit lang naman sa bahay ko ang hideout namin kaya mabilis lang din akong nakarating. Nang makarating ako sa loob nakita ko ang napakaraming tao ngunit isa lamang ang napansin ko. Steve is here.

"Hey!" I greeted him and tap his shoulder.

"Chansing ka ah!" Sabi nito at kumindat.

Yuck! Nakakadiri. I have something to ask so I cannot hurt him, yet. Patience, Mace.

"Congrats!" Sabi ko rito at nginitian nang napakatamis.

"Hulaan ko, magtatanong ka sa akin about the Mayor, 'no?" Tanong nito habang nakangisi.

Absolutely! Bakit ano sa tingin mo? Kinausap lang kita because I want to? No way!

I nodded and chuckles. I thought my charisma would work but I guess it doesn't. He turn my back on me and went to the table where the liquor and sweets are found. Pero dahil makulit ako sinundan ko siya hanggang makakuha siya ng isang baso ng alak.

"What?" He asked while raising his brows.

"Please... Tell me anything, kahit ano, any details about it would satisfy me." I said while pouting my lips. It may sound childish but I know this will work.

I saw him gulp and nodded. I told you! He can't resist me.

"I killed him at his bathroom. He was cleaning his ass, haha!" Sabi nito at tumawa. I can't help myself but to laugh as well. Paano ba naman kasi, nakakahawa ang tawa niya.

"Sabi ko sa kanya dapat budhi niya naman ang sinabunan niya baka sakaling luminis." Patuloy na kwento nito at nilagok ang alak. I am just looking at him while listening to everything he said.

"Nagulat siya nong nagsalita ako and tried to scream for help, but was too slow because I pointed my gun on his mouth and shut it before he could say anything." Sabi nito at ikinorte ang kamay niya na parang baril at kunwaring binaril ito sa ere.

I was astounded by his experience that I couldn't utter any words so I just applause my hands and smiled at him.

"Thank you!" I said and waved my hand as a goodbye.

Honestly, I want to experience it too! I've been training for so long pero hanggang ngayon wala pa rin akong mission. Masyado akong bine-baby ng mga kasamahan ko. Palibhasa, my Dad was the former head of the organization. So, they always told me to listen and wait for the right time. I've been kind and patient to them but my patience is running out.

Pagkabalik ko sa pwesto kung saan kami umalis ay nakita ko na nandon na rin ang mga councilor. Which also means, the meeting is about to start so everyone has been gathered in this area. The room is quiet as a heart that beats no more. Halos ihip na lang ng hangin ang maririnig. Everyone is attentive and waiting including me.

"We gathered you here today for another mission. A mission to kill a person, just like always. But, this mission is considered as the most perilous one. That's why we decided to give this to someone whose well mannered and trained. This would be her first mission and I believe she's the only one capable of doing this." Mahabang paliwanag ni Molly and after she explained it she went her gazed on me.

Ramdam ko ang pagbilis nang tibok ng puso ko habang nakatitig sa akin si Molly. She is the head after my father died, she was the one assigned. She's like a sister to me na and this organization is like a family. Napangiti ako nang maintindihan kung ano ang nais niyang ipahiwatig. Finally, this mission is mine!

"I know everyone of you know and understand what I said. I clearly stated everything, so all of you can leave, and Maisie, stay here." Sabi nito at sinimulang paalisin ang mga tao.

"Congrats, honey!" Sabi sa akin ni Steve at akmang yayakapin pa ako ngunit iniwasan ko lamang ito at pinaalis. Chansing pa siya, hindi naman ako uto-uto gaya niya, haha.

All of them congratulates me and I can see na they are all happy for me. So, I am! I am very delighted to be chosen. After so many years, I can now apply my training and prove my skills. I have the genes of a gunman and I was born to be like this.

"Mace..."

Napatigil ako sa pag-iisip nang tawagin ako ni Molly. Agad akong lumapit at umupo sa tabi nito kasama ang iba pang councilor. Sawyer, Rose, Paxton and Molly. They are the councilor and to be honest they are like my siblings. They took care of me after my Dad died and showered me with loved like I was their own siblings. That's why I know this is hard for them, to give this mission for me. But knowing them, I know that they want the best for organization and success to every mission.

"When am I going to start?" excited na tanong ko.

Halos mapunit na rin ang labi ko kakangiti paano ba naman kasi, sobrang saya ko talaga. This is like a dream of mine, a dream that is finally happening.

"Mace, we've got a plan" sabi ni Paxton.

"Yes, it's a nice plan, darling" dagdag ni Rose.

"I don't think she will like it" sagot naman ni Sawyer.

"Shut up!" sabi ni Molly at natahimik silang lahat.

"Listen to me, this is not an ordinary mission. Napakadelikado nito that's why we decided to make a plan that is unusual." Paliwanag ni Molly habang seryosong nakatitig sa akin.

I don't know somehow I feel scared with this kind of ambience. I know Molly she is a serious but not too serious when she's with me. Sobrang jolly niya at maalalahanin so this is the first time I am seeing her like this.

"Okay. I am all ears." Seryosong saad ko habang patuloy na nakatitig sa kanilang lahat.

They explained everything to me. But what the fuck, just like what Sawyer said I DON'T LIKE THIS PLAN. I am a hired assasin but they expect me to make a soldier fall in loved with me and killed him after. What is this? Some kind of romance in movies and novels? For pete's sake, I AM A TRAINED GUNMAN, my goal is to kill not to play with someone's feelings!

"Your plan sucks, I don't want to do it. I have a plan and i'll do it by myself!" Galit na sabi ko at umalis.

I heard them calling my name, but I don't want to look back. I know I can do it alone. I've been training in hell, there's nothing I can't do. Isang tao lang ang kailangan kong patayin, that's a piece of cake. I don't need their plan I just need to stick with my own plan. This is my mission and I don't consider this as perilous but a no-brainer mission.
