Prologue

"Alright this is it, " Momma said as she grabbed a couple of cardboard boxes. I rolled my eyes and grabbed every single box I could grab for my room. I went up the wooden stairs and went into my big room. The walls were already painted F/c and it looked amazing. I don't want to be here why did we have to move. I set all the boxes down and sighed. There are barely any black people anyways, this isn't what I wanted. I grab my phone and check the time, 10:05. I have a lot of time and they could handle this. I take a shower and put on my S/b shoes, My P/t pants, and my Sh/b shirt. I walk out the door and start to walk around. This is not New York. I was born on February 11th, 2001. My mom, she's versatile, arrogant, and quick. Which isn't out of the ordinary for someone with her past. She was born and grew up in a poor family in a major capital, she lived free of trouble until she was about 13 years old, but at that point, things changed. She lost her sister in a robbery gone wrong and was caught up with the wrong people. While pursued by strangers she had to survive in a cruel world. This has turned her into the woman she is today. My Dad just happened to be in her life. Nothing special. 

I had started to get a feel of where everything was. I saw a corner store and wanted to look around and get to know some people. I walked inside the small corner store and looked around. There was a redhead with a buzz cut upfront. I grabbed F/s and F/d and walked up to the cashier. "You new around here?" I nodded and took out my wallet. I smelt like drugs in here but whatever. "yeah actually I am moving from New York," I said lightly smiling. "Nice to know, what's your name?" He said as he started to ring up my items. "Y/n L/n, what's yours," I said. "Fezco" he stated dryly as he handed me my items in a brown bag. "Well see you later Fezco," I said waving as I left. I walked out and saw a brown-haired girl going to walk in. Everything is so boring here. I sat on the steps and started to scroll on my phone. "Hey, are you that other new girl?" The brown-haired girl said sitting by me. "Yeah, my name's Y/n what's yours," I said turning towards her. "Rue," She said getting up. "Want a tour?" She said smiling. I nodded and started to walk with her. "So did you move here from anywhere or have you always been here," I said walking with Rue. "Yeah I've always been here," She said walking. It started to get very awkward. "So is there anything happening that could be fun to go to," I asked. "Yeah, actually this one event this guy named McKay. He is a football player everybody is going to be there" She said stopping in front of a mall. "Oh okay what are we doing in front of a mall," I said confused. "I don't know I just bring us here. " Rue said. I shrugged my shoulders, grabbed her hand, and went inside. "I don't have money," she said. "But I do," I said pushing her inside. We went through about every shop and got something for the party. I met Maddie and a whole bunch of other girls while rue was in the restroom. Rue and I exchanged numbers and she told me the party details.

 I stole a random bike and started to bike home when I watched up with a very colorful girl. "Hi I like your style," I said starting up a conversation. "Oh thanks," She said a little startled. "I'm new here are you?" I said still biking. "I am new here too," She said smiling. "Well I'm Y/n nice to meet you," I said smiling at her.
