Beth Harmon, though her classmates loved her, they knew nothing of her. She didn't have many friends. Lots of classmates, acquaintances. She had a knack for scaring people away, or a curse as her dad would say. Wether it be her absent mother or bubbly personality, people always seemed to leave. The only two people who this didn't include was Mission Creeks very own Finn Larson and Phoenix Jones, her only friends.
She met Phoenix in chess club, the only person at Mission Creek that had beaten her in a game, which got her attention. Now they play every Sunday. Finn she met on the student council, he was the student body Vice President. They had started talking once she was the only one who showed up to his optional meeting about having vegan options in the school's cafeteria.
Beth Harmon lead a boring life. Living in routine, she originally thought it would stay like that until college. Then she'd get to go off on her very own adventure. But someone showed up. Someone named Chase Davenport. And the adventure came sooner than she had previously expected, and never ended.
