On the Verge

Logan cried all the more upon hearing her mother's words. "That's why I have to go there and rescue her" he stood up but his father stopped him again.

"We have to come up with a plan. Going there, right now, without any weapons might endanger you... and Suryeon"

"What should we do appa? I can't bear the thought of Suryeon staying there. Help me pls" Logan begged his father in tears.

"Don't worry, son. I'll help you. We will get Suryeon and make sure that the Joos will pay"

Meanwhile in the Joo's mansion...

"Mwo! You prepared all these, Suryeon? Wait, are they safe to eat" Mrs. Joo sarcastically asked while laughing.

"Of course they are mom. Suryeon wouldn't dare harm us and break our agreement. Right my jagiya?" Dantae said.

Suryeon felt cringey hearing that endearment from the person he despised the most. And since she's not answering, Dantae strongly squeezed her arms which made her wince.

"You should answer everytime I ask" Dantae said exerting more effort on squeezing her arms until she answered.

"Ye-yes, I'm so-sorry" Suryeon replied in pain.

After dinner, Suryeon escorted Dantae to his room and help him get to his bed. As she is about to leave, Dantae grabbed her making their faces in close contact.

"Sleep here with me"

Suryeon was terrified, her whole body shaking.

"Please... not yet" she said almost crying.

Dantae laughed so hard, "You're too difficult. Arraseo, I'll spare you for now but once we get married, I'll make sure you'll sleep here... with me... everyday... and you'll enjoy" he whispered the last words on her ear and kissed her cheek, then he released her.

As soon as she's out of his grip, she rushed outside, her body still trembling. She ran to the attic (where they make her stay and sleep) sobbing and crying. When she entered her room, the first thing she did is looked for Logan's jacket (Suryeon secretly brought one with her) and hugged it very tightly.

"Logan, I miss you" she said with eyes full of tears.

Weeks have passed and Logan did not waste any time planning on how she will rescue her Suryeon. As he visited the branch near their office building, the manager told him that she happened to see Suryeon, more than once, outside the restaurant, very early in the morning. However, as she tries to go to her, she's not successful everytime because she suddenly disappears.

Suryeon was allowed by Dantae to go outside every morning to the market but he warned her not to do something he doesn't like. If she does, he'll discipline her in a way she'll surely regret. But because of her deep longing, Suryeon risk to pass by the Lee's building and restaurant everyday, hoping to have a glimpse of Logan even just from a distance.

"Just a glimpse of him is enough" Suryeon said to herself. Unfortunately, luck is not on her side. She has passed by many times but there is no Logan.

"Are you sure that it is her?" Logan asked Ms. Han.

"Yes, sir! I'm sure it's her"

"Arraseo. What time do you usually see her?"

"Around 7am as soon as I open the restaurant"

Logan had more hope after knowing this.

Early the next morning, he immediately went to the restaurant expecting to see her. He sat on one of the tables facing the side of the glass window where Suryeon was spotted. While waiting, a pretty lady approached him.
