"What happened!?" Amity asked.

Amity's palisman came to life and started to rub against her.

"Ghost, not now!"

Luz would've cooed at how cute this was, seeing Amity's palisman nuzzle against her like a mother cat but she refocused.

"I think when I added too much Animal Essence by mistake, it turned us into animals." Luz said as she gazed at the dropped bottle.

"Well, how do we turn back?"

"I don't know! The bottle doesn't say anything!" Luz said as she read the back of the bottle. "Maybe we'll have to ask Eda for help! She might have been through this before."

"Then let's call her!" Amity said as she pushed away from Ghost, using her paw to draw a spell circle to summon her scroll. "At least I can still use my magic like this."

Amity pressed the buttons, which proved to be difficult with paws, but finally managed to make the call.

"So cute!" Luz whispers with paws in her cheeks.

"Not the time." Amity said as she walked over to her, bringing the phone along with her.

'Even though you're cute too.' Amity thought as she set the scroll up for a video call.

They saw Eda pop up, slightly drunk.

"Hello?"

"Eda! We need your help!" Luz and Amity said as Ghost walked behind them, sitting behind them.

"Huh?" Eda let out, wide eyes in shock as she quickly rubbed her eyes. "I must've drank WAY too much because I think I'm seeing things."

"Eda, focus! It's me, Luz!"

"And me! Our project went wrong, and we turned into animals!" Amity shouted, trying to ignore Ghost licking her head to clean her fur.

"Only you could fuck up something like this." Eda said, "I'll come and get you."

"That won't be necessary."

Amity was picked up by the scruff of her neck.

"I will be taking your friend home, Mittens. We'll talk about this when I get back." Odalia said.

"Mom?!" Amity said in surprise!

"Y-y-you're back."

"I decided to come back early and see how you were doing." Odalia said, placing Amity on the table, "And I can see you two have done a lot of work."

She picked up Luz.

"Come on, let's get you to the Owl House." Odalia said.

"Wait! What about Amity?" Luz asked.

"Mittens will be fine, her siblings will look after her. I'll tell her about any news the owl lady has about this." Odalia said as she walked to the door of the manor. "Now, let's get you home, little.... what exactly are you?"

"I'm an otter. Do you guys not have otters here?" Luz asked her.

"We do, but... they are not nearly as cuddly as you. My mother lost a hand to an otter here."

"Oh, I'm sorry." Luz said.

"Don't, I could never stand that woman."

'Wow. Talk about irony.' Luz thought with a blink.

Odalia carried Luz out of the manor and called an Abomitron to her side, snapping her finds to make it shape shift into a roofless carriage for her to ride in.

"Wow! These are cool when they don't try to kill you." Luz muttered to herself.

"Now, let's get you back home and see if the Owl Lady has anything that can fix you."

"You're not gonna rat out in Eda's house when I show you where it is, are you?" Luz asked.

"Of course not. I may not seem like it, but I know better to rat out Edalyn. Plus, I would be questioned by association." Odalia said as she stepped into the carriage, placing Luz on the seat next to her. "So, you can relax and just enjoy the ride."
