"Kab?"

(When?)

"Jaldi kya hai bhai. Kr lenge baat."

(We will. What is the hurry.)

"Nhi mai toh bas."

(No I was just.)

I ask rubbing my neck nervously and they laughed.

My parents love to tease me.

Sanjana's POV

We were sitting in the living room after having dinner when papa suddenly asked me.

"Sanjana? Kisi Siddharth Gupta ko jaanti ho tum?"

(Do you know any Siddharth Gupta?)

I looked at him wide eyed. I looked at Sanya and she was reciprocating my reaction. A few seconds later she relaxed and nodded.

I turned to papa and mumbled slowly.

"Jee papa."

(Yes papa.)

"Hmm. Kya rishta hai tumhara?"

(What is your relationship?)

I looked at Sanya and she blinked her eyes in response. I gulped and mumbled.

"Hum pyaar krte hai papa."

(We love each other papa.)

He hummed again and then everything went silent. 

Kuch kaho papa! Meri jaan nikal jaayegi.

"Phone aaya tha mere paas unke parents ka."

(His parents called.)

He said after a long pause.

"Shaadi ki baat kr rhe the tum dono ki."

(He was talking about marriage.)

I kept my head lowered.

"Maine keh dia ki tumse puchh kr bataunga. Kya jawaab du unhe?"

(I told them I will ask you. What should I say?)

"Arre puchhna kya hai. Haan bolo seedha."

(What is there to ask. Say yes.)

Sanya squealed excitedly. Uff ye ladki!

Papa must have looked at her because she stuttered.

"Mai-mai toh bas aise hi."

(I-i was just.)

Mummy sat beside me and asked me softly.

"Shaadi krni hai na unse?"

(You want to marry him?)

I nodded and felt papa caress my head after some time.

I looked at him. He had tears in his eyes.

"Itni badi ho gyi meri bacchi. Shaadi ki baat ho rhi hai."

(You grew up so fast. Talking about your marriage.)

He choked slightly and I hugged him tight. 

"Mai bhi."

(Me too.)

Sanya too jumped in and I chuckled slightly.

Papa kissed our heads and said that they would finalise everything tomorrow.

We went to our rooms and I slumped on the bed.
