You smiled at the Bad Batch crew as you entered the cockpit everyone was crowded into. "Hey boys," you greeted before your eyes dropped to the pouty face of Omega. You let out a chuckle, crouching down in front of her and ruffling her messy hair with your hand affectionately. "And Omega, of course," you added with a smile before straightening again.

"Hello Y/N," came Tech's immediate greeting from the pilot's seat.

"You're all suited up?" Hunter asked, his gaze leaving the windshield to look at you.

You placed one hand on your hip, the other occupied with a modified helmet just for you. "Yessir!" you chirped, drumming your fingers along the helmet for a moment.

You weren't actually a clone like the others, but after you had become tightly knit with the group, they had discussed it and decided you should have your own gear too. Besides, it helped keep you safer on top of it just looking cool, so it had been a logical choice as well as a heartwarming one. It still made you feel warm and fuzzy inside just remembering the day Tech held out your brand new armour to you.

"We'll be landing momentarily," Echo announced from a short distance away, and sure enough, the lush, dark rainforest of the world below was now visible as the ship decended from the fog and clouds.

"Alright!" Wrecker cheered, slugging your arm with excitement. You nearly stumbled into the ship's wall, rubbing the sore spot that most definitely was bruising beneath even your armour. The big man immediately looked apologetically at you. "Oh, was that too strong? I didn't mean for it to-"

"No worries, big guy," you airily laughed, waving off his apology. "I know you didn't mean to hurt me, so don't worry about it." He gave you a big sheepish but appreciative grin, the sunshine in his smile making it worth the throbbing pain in your upper arm.

Hunter quickly debriefed you all again on the plan; you all were to split up into teams as soon as the ship landed. Hunter and Omega were going to scout the area, then give a report on what the defenses looked like. Then you and Tech were supposed to get in close to the building, getting to the various control panels stationed around the building and shutting off any extra defense mechanisms. After that, Echo and Wrecker were to follow up the back and break into the building itself while it was unarmed, taking the device Cid was paying you all for. Then all of you would sprint to get out of there quick as possible before reinforcements could show up.

You nodded in affirmation, coming up next to the pilot's seat, putting your hand atop the shoulder of the chair to smile down at Tech. "Ready for a team up?" you asked him, unable to stifle the excitement in your voice. You weren't going to say it out loud, but out of anyone, Tech was your favorite to work alongside on these missions. There was something about how methodical and calm he was that just always made everything feel so much easier.

Tech graced you with a sidelong glance, his gaze mostly focused forwards as he began landing the ship. "Most definitely," he responded pleasantly. You spotted a trace of a smile on his face before his attention returned completely forward again. "Hold on. This landing may get a bit bumpy," Tech warned, so everyone got to their seats.

You held Omega on your lap to keep her in her harness better, and she tilted her head back against your chestplate to give you a big smile. You returned the gesture right before the ship jolted, causing you to startle and grasp onto the restraints keeping you both in the seat. No matter how many less than graceful landings the ship took, you doubted you would ever really get used to that. Finally, the ship's jostling movements stopped and Tech announced that the landing was complete. Omega nearly burst out of her seat, just excited to be included on a mission.

Hunter was the one to approach her as the ramp of the ship lowered, unfolding into a staircase. "Ready to go?" he asked her.

"Yup!" she exclaimed, getting a double thumbs up from you as the two made their way out of the ship.
