Thinking of her, he saw her peering at him after his aunt crushed his plan and the face of empathy she arbored at that moment just made him smirk. It will be too easy to talk with her, seeing how nice she was.

Yeah, after all, he wasn't regretting having to hang with the other.

"Ayye, guess who's staying here today," exclaims Victor, entering his Abuela's house with enthusiasm.

Woking up late and to the voice of his older cousin was not what Lance would call ideal. And worst, learning that that same cousin would come with them after eating did not enchant him.

Clearly, luck wasn't on his side.

After leaving all the smaller kids to Abuela, not that she complained, she liked having her younger grandchildren with her while they were still kids. Afterward, they stop paying attention to her, as she often exaggerated, which usually made her earn the sighs of her older grandchildren. Of course, they knew she was just joking and she only wanted to be with them as much as time could let her have.

The grown-ups and teenagers all left the house, going for a walk in town. In the park precisely. Only Nadia stayed at her grandma, although she could have come with them.

The latter being gathered behind, each chatting about different things.

Luis, Victor, and Lance were having an animated conversation about which anime character was the stronger whereas Julio, Marco, and Rachel were debating on either or not ditching everyone since nobody was paying attention to them. Everyone was focused on their own conversation and the adults were sitting on the bench of the park, still talking.

On the other hand, Rosalie and Veronica were simply talking about what to do next on the island.

"Yeah, but besides me or Lance, if you really want to explore the country, or at least, the town asks Victor, he's the expert here." explains the brunette, immediately catching the attention of the cousin in question.

"You called me?" Making his way to the two girls, he drops completely his two cousins. He wasn't winning this argument anyway.

"No. Rosalie asked me about something and I was just telling her you were the one who knew Cuba better here," Veronica clarifies herself.

Glancing at his cousin's friend, he grins at her, "If you want a tour I would be more than happy to show you around," he offers, and then continue, "I could show you a lot of things."

The girl with glasses winces at her cousin's last offer. She knows him well enough to know it wasn't an all innocent and friendly phrase. "Ok, we will keep it cute here," she interrupts with a hypocritical smile.

"What you mean, I always keep it cute," he scoffs.

Not sure if she is on the same page as them, Rosalie clears her throat to regain their attention, "Um, sure I would love to someday."

"Then let me know when you want to visit," Victore concludes before something in the small garden catches his eyes. He crouches to pick up the red flower, carefully since it has thorns.

He stands up, proudly and shows the flower to Rosalie who looks dumbfounded. And she's not the only one. In the distance, her best friend who was glancing from time to time at them saw his cousin picking up the flower, and could not believe how corny he was going to act.

Like, seriously? Who does that?!

"I bet they're your favorite flowers," he says while holding them at her. Seeing where this is going, Veronica slips away, deciding to join her younger cousin and sister.

She makes a face, crossing her arms, "Just because my name's Rosalie doesn't mean roses are my favorite."

He tilts his head, but internally he wasn't surprised. In fact, he just said that to have a reaction from her and have an excuse to continue his discussion with her. "So what is it then?"

"Guess." She simply grins, a little bit amused, and that did not go unnoticed by her interlocutor nor her friend who was now totally spying on them.

The taller one thinks for a minute, analyzing her. She chuckles. How observing her would help him to figure out her favorite flower?

"I would say... Cherry flower?" he ventures, snapping his fingers.

TULIPS, her favorites are tulips! Wants to scream Lance, as he watches them, jealousy sneaking its way into him. Because he, contrary to him actually knew her favorite.

She shook her head, "Nice try, but no."

"Damn, I was convinced they were, given the fact it's the second time you're wearing clothes with cherries on them."

Rosalie shot her eyes open. He noticed? Usually, the only ones who do are her friends, and she did not expect her best friend's cousin to do the same.

Nonetheless, she finds it pretty sweet of him to think cherry flowers were her favorites because she loved to wear clothes with cherries patterns.

"But I have to say, you look lovely in this cherry dress," he compliments her with a charming smile, which makes her blush a little. Unfortunately for her, it's not like the last time she blushed because of him. The sun is still high in the sky and Victor most likely saw the reddish tones of her cheeks.

Proud of himself, he doesn't wait for her response, instead, he gives her a wink before going back to his cousin.

Decidedly, she did not expect that either.
