Chapter 8: Avalon awaits

Start from the beginning

Anadil shivered at the thought.

"Where do we start?" Anadil asked.

Lady Lesso called Hester back into focus and she started explaining again.

"I want all of you to search around the woods for any clues as to who the villain is. Be smart now."

"Shouldn't we split up?" Dot asked.

"No. It's too dangerous you fool." Lady Lesso said. "Now second of all, be very cautious of the people you meet. Don't be an idiot. Don't trust so easily either, like Rhian."

"Well we aren't naive like Tedros or Sophie. The idiots have both gotten betrayed twice." Hester hissed.

Lady Lesso ignored her.

"First of all, starting in a couple minutes, I want you to search the woods. Second, if you find anything, just keep it in until you return at sundown. Do not split up. You may not have any help either, since this is your fairytale. Not anyone else's."

"Yeah yeah, can we go now?" Hester snapped.

Lady Lesso stood up, pushing the coven over to the door, " hurry along now, chop chop!"

"You sound like Dovey..." Anadil muttered. Lady Lesso glared at her coldly, clearly disliking being compared to Good's Dean even though they were close friends.

"Okay, so search around, you find anything, immediately return back here. Understood?"

"Understood." The coven said at the same time.

Then they were shoved out of Laddy Lesso's office again.

"Where should we start?" Anadil asked, glancing around the woods.

"Um...how about we check Avalon first?" Hester suggested.

"Sounds good." Anadil replied.

The Coven then walked silently together in a little triangle. Hester at front, Anadil to the bottom left, and Dot to the right of Anadil.

The two noticed that Hester was walking slower than usual, Anadil wondered why.

"Well this is awkward..." Anadil mumbled, breaking the silence.

"You don't say." Hester grumped with an eye roll.

The silence overcame them again, neither of the witches knowing what to say.

"Are we just going to walk on foot??" Dot shrieked out of the blue.

"What? Were you expecting a fancy Camelot carriage or something?" Anadil hissed.

"Well we are in a fairytale though-"

"THIS IS NOT CINDERELLA DOT!" Hester yelled suddenly, whipping around to her.

Dot squeaked in surprise, her hands clasped together in front of her chest.

"But- but Avalon is pretty far away from here...and isn't that where Chaddick died? What if we die- we're in a fairytale after all! Oh no! Hester, I don't want to die!" Dot wailed.

"We are NOT going to DIE, at least, not with me here. But no FUCKING PROMISES!" Hester yelled again. Then she turned back around and continued walking like she didn't just explode at Dot. Anadil scrambled after her and Dot nearly tripped over a rock, looking as glum as the clouds in the sky.

"What if it rains..." Anadil muttered.

Hester had thought the same. If it rained, well, then they were screwed.
