William 'Bill' Hope is a secondary school student and one of the Zodiac heroes. He is the protagonist of the series.

Official Description
William Hope is a British 17-year-old secondary school student. He has diabetes and dyslexia. His spirit form is a black phantom.
Appearance
Bill is a teenage boy with messy and long brown hair, brown eyes and light skin with freckles. His hair is pulled back and middle-parted with his bandanna off while his bangs are shown without his bandanna. His casual wear consists of a yellow t-shirt over a black long-sleeved shirt, black cargo pants and black and white shoes. He is sometimes seen with a black bandanna. His student uniform consists of a navy blue blazer over a white dress shirt with a red necktie, warm grey pants, white socks and white sneakers. He stands on average height and weight. In his spiritual state, his eyes glow black. His spirit form is a black phantom.
History
Early Life
William Hope was born on the 15th of August 2004 in the UK. He has dyslexia and type 1 diabetes. His parents weren't financially stable, not enough to provide him insulin. So he can ended up in the orphanage.
Volume 6 (Zach's era, pre-storm era)
Bill and the other orphans were introduced when they evacuated the orphanage and ended up in the hospital at Zodiac College. They were confirmed Zodiac heroes but their powers weren't introduced yet.
Volume 7 (Zach's era, post-storm era)
In the aftermath of the storm, the Zodiac heroes returned to their normal lives as Mat wakes up from a coma. However, they had to deal with more missions coming up for them in the future. Bill's powers were introduced and were confirmed to be Dark and Water-based. However, the execution failed and now, the Zodiac heroes, along with a new addition to the team, Dylan, had to go to Norwich the following week to learn about the orphans.
When the Zodiac heroes visited Norwich, they learned more about the orphans and why they became orphans. They later learned that Bill was injecting high blood pressure medicine, antibiotics and estrogen instead of insulin. However, while they were doing research, they had to fight one of the last conspirers during the 1980s Zodiac Massacre. Later, they had to go back to Cambridge as soon as Bill is experiencing diabetic keto acidosis which led him to a coma. As soon as he woke up, he took some time to recover before the heroes are on their way to Wales.
While on their way to Wales, the Time Eaters hijacked the train causing them to stop in Bath, Somerset. There, they met the former Zodiac heroes, Roland and Curt. Later, Curt defeated Dream and Andrew by using his powers and throwing them into the Great Bath. Which is considered acidic to Dark Spirits. After that, the team are on their way to Wales when they bumped into Kate.
When the team arrived at Wales, they bumped into some other 80s Zodiac heroes who were seeking the healer, known as Tom. After their appointment with the healer, the woke up at the side of a castle. Then, they went to Aimee's inherited house where they had a battle with a corroded Andrew. Curt injured his ribs in the battle after defeating Andrew so the Zodiac heroes went back to Cambridge and were suspended from missions for a month.
Personality
Bill is immature and sarcastic. He also tends to be hot-tempered and energetic and has a similar personality to Tommy. Aside from his brash personality, he is also kind and caring.
Etymology
(First name) The name William is a timeless classic with English roots that date back almost a thousand years, yet is still popular today. It means "resolute protector" or "strong-willed warrior" and comes from Wilhelm, of Old German origin.
(Last name) The surname Hope is derived from the Old English word "hop" which means "the side of a hill, or low ground between hills." In Scotland, "hope" means "glen."
