2019 and 2020 was a crazy busy year for Esme because she was tied to several different projects before she had to film for the final Spider-Man Film which no one except Kevin Feige and a few people at Marvel knew. Not even Tom, Justin, Tessa, Jacob, Harrison or Zendaya knew. Or Esme's family. It was all top secret. The Lego Movie-The Second Part, John Wick 3: Parabellum, The Devil All The Time, then Supernatural in the final season before Spider-Man 3 then she had to film for NCIS and Grey's Anatomy in 2021. Which means Esme had to fly to Atlanta, do John Wick, then to Vancouver for Supernatural, then BACK to Atlanta for Devil All The Time then home in L.A. for Lego Movie 2. But in all honesty, it was worth it in her opinion.

Esme had just arrived at the studio to do all her voice recordings and she had seen Chris Pratt and they hugged.
"'Sup Downey?! Haven't seen you in a while!"
"I've been busy. I have like 6 projects I think before the new year rings in."
"Oh my God, why so many?!" Chris asked. Esme laughed and explained,
"I keep saying yes. But luckily, it's spread out throughout the year evenly so I'm resting okay. You ready for Awesomeness Part 2?" The 2 fist bumped and Chris said,
"LETS DO THIS!"

Esme had just left Hair/Makeup and was ready for her final/long fight scene before they wrapped up the film to go into Post Production. While preparing her role in Infinity War and Endgame, Esme had been working twice as hard for John Wick, even learning new and extremely tough moves that a lot of MMA fighters have been using lately. She wanted to take a pause on John Wick since it's such a physically demanding movie and she already was a part of Marvel and does all of her own stunts so her body needed a break. Esme even asked to kill her character off and had explained that she would come back but not for a while. When she walked onto set, she sees Keanu and said,
"Ready to kill me, Reeves?" Keanu laughed and said,
"You've been dying to say that, haven't you?" Esme let out a belly laugh at his dad joke. She knew about his baby dying stillborn and his girlfriend at the time while filming John Wick 1. They had connected closely in that one night and he was like a second dad to her if her actual one wasn't on set.
