Heartless Sweetheart

A "normal" school day.

Shit. I have 2 minutes to run up 2 pairs of stairs, across the soccer field, and through the corridors. Nice. 

I get started running as fast as possible with my backpack on my stomach so I can run faster. Physics ay~ 

I run across the soccer field like my life depends on it and I dart up the stairs. I reach my classroom 1 minute late. 

Okay I have to quietly walk in without the teacher noticing. Great -_-

I try to open the door as quiet as possible but of course it makes the loudest squeaky sound. 

*SKEEEHSHSSS*

"Park Hyejin! Why are you late??" the teacher says. Shit it's Mr. Kim, he is super strict!

"Uh I was- I couldn't? Uh just give me detention honestly..." I say realizing no excuse will get me out of this. Some students snicker and some laugh. 

"I would happily give you detention but for the volunteers of the festival have a meeting today, which you probably didn't know, so I will let you go for today." he says making me grin widely. 

"Yes! Uh I mean thank you!" I say while hitting my stupid mouth. I happily hop to my seat where I'm greeted by Jukyung. Sunghoon and Jake's desk is near mine so they wave happily as well. 

"Yah what happened with Jake and you know Niki yesterday?" Jukyung whispers quietly into my ear. 

"Oh... A lot. We can talk about it in like breaktime." I say as it is a very weird and complicated matter.

She nods and I take a deep breath after all that running. Then it hit me. I have to take time out of my fun at the festival to feed students cold food. UGGHHH. SUNOO IS SO ANNOYING. 

Class goes slowly as usual, and I notice almost all the students in the back are asleep. 

I put my chin on my desk while I doodle on my so-called "notes". I get a piece of paper thrown at my head so I lift my head up and look around. Jake smiles widely and points at the note on the floor. 

I nod and pick it up. Thank goodness we are not awkward after yesterdays scene. 

The note has hearts and smiley faces on it with it saying "Hi!! I hope your feeling well! I'm literally so bored...". 

I look back at Jake and he pouts and does a sleeping motion with his hands. I giggle and click my pen to write something back. 

I finish writing and open the front pocket of my backpack. I put a piece of candy and fold the note. 

If your curious I wrote along the lines of "same :( I don't get math and I never will. Why are their letters in math tho?!??"

I try to throw it directly to him but it accidently hits Sunghoon's book making him jump in shock. Jukyung's boyfriend was too stunned to speak.

I bow my head sheepishly to Sunghoon while he just shakes his head. 

Jake opens the note and eats the candy without the teacher knowing. hah. Cute.

"Okay class that's it for today but for any volunteers for the festival, the meeting is at 2pm at that café across of school. Oh right, who is participating as a volunteers? Anyone can do it!" Mr. Kim yells. 

I don't raise my hand to maybe get out of it but Mr. Kim notices and says "Okay Park Hyejin and who else?". Darn it. 

Some students raise their hands but not many. Well this is embarrassing...

"Me!" I hear Jake scream from beside me. My jaw drops to the floor. WHAT? Well this is good for me right?

"YES!" I yell out accidently making everyone stare at me. 

"Let's gaurrr dab me up my g!" Jake says making me get up out of my seat to dab him up. 

"Hyejin and Jake! Sit down!!" Mr. Kim scolds loudly. I sit down and laugh at what just happened. 

"Okay, anyone else??" Mr. Kim announces. 

After a minutes of silence a voice is heard. 

"Me." a deep but clear voice is heard. Everyone turns to the back to see who it is and low and behold it is Niki. 

"Niki? Uh okay. So Minjin, Mijoo, Hyejin, Jake, and Niki. That's it." Mr. Kim says while walking out of the class. 

Everyone starts to become loud and messy so I turn to Jukyung who is sleeping soundly. Aish. This girl-

"Jukyung? We have class soon!" I say in a whisper close to her ear. 

"Aish. Wake up!!" I scream into her ear. She groans and opens her eyes slowly. 

"Sorry, I'm just so tired." Jukyung says while yawning. I pat her back and look around for anything that will wake her up. I accidently hit my hand on the bag from Niki. I hesitantly open it and see tons of candy wrapped in tons of tissue paper. I gasp at the sight and quickly shut my mouth to decrease any unwanted attention. 

I take out some jellies and put them on Jukyung's desk. 

"Here. Eat these." I say while pointing at them. 

"Thanks bestie! Love ya!" Jukyung says while happily eating them. Sunghoon and Jake slyly make their way to our desk as the teacher hasn't arrived yet. 

"Hey princess." Sunghoon says to Jukyung. I roll my eyes at the sight and focus my attention to Niki in the corner of the room. He is listening to music as usual with the sun shining brightly at his beautiful features. 

Hyejin! Snap out of it! This is weird..

"Did he give you that?" Jake asks while pointing at the bag...
