I yawned as I walked done the street.
Once again, my shift was later in the day, so I took the opportunity of freedom.
I live around a great variety of stores and restaurants, so finding something to do was relatively easy.

One of my favorite places was the butcher shop.
Now, though that might seem obscure, the shop is my favorite place to get steak.
Of course it doesn't really taste different.
It's just that steak there is cheaper and well...not everyone can make a good steak.
Sometimes if you want it done right, you gotta do yourself as they say.
Meats are my specialties in cooking anyways.

The door's bell rang as I entered the shop.
A swift sent of fresh meat practically made me drool.

"Ah, Y/N!
One of my favorites!" Exclaimed the butcher.

She was in her mid-forties with brunette hair and wrinkled skin.
Divorced three times with a kid and a baby, the woman was my literal role model.
Despite all she'd been through, she still stuck her neck out for love..
it was admirable.

"Linda, how are you?"

"As fine as I can be!"

"That's good to hear!" I chuckled.

Looking around, I began thinking of the meat I wanted to get.

"Hmm.
The beef steak was good last time, but that Venison one sure does look tempting~"

"Why don't you try it?"

"Nah.
Despite the appeal, I can't get passed the texture."

"Oh darlin'~
You've never had it like I make it.
Here, just wait while I go get you a fresh sample!"

Though it wasn't necessary, I'm not the type to back down from free food.
That would be rude!
As I waited, the bell rang again.
I gasped as a familiar face entered the butcher shop.

"Eddie?" I asked.

He looked at me, grinning in realization.

"Woah, no way!
What were the chances?"

"I dunno but it's good to see you!" I giggled.

This time, he didn't have a hood over his head and I got a clearer visual of his face.
His hair is messy and brown with a scuffed face to match.
Small amounts of facial hair gave the roguish dapper impression as he smiled.
He was actually pretty built!
The sight was definitely worth the wait.

"Alright, dadlin'!
I'm back with the-" she noticed Eddie.

"Oh, hello!
How can I help ya, young man?"

"Are these REALLY your prices?"

"Yup!"

"What, did you forget you wallet again?" I asked.

"Ha, no!
I've just...never seen meat sold this cheap!"

"Why do you think I come here?"

"Fair enough."

She handed me my sample and for whatever reason, it wasn't as chewy as I was use to.

"This is awesome!
What's the recipe?"

"It's a secret~
If you want a full one cooked, say the word!
It's only a dollar more per how much you want it cooked."

"Uhh...well, this tastes medium, so I'll have it medium!"

She nodded and turned again to Eddie.

"What 'bout you, pumpkin?"

"Just a normal Sirloin for me, please."
