The box of tampons were almost teasing her; sitting there untouched and unopened. Emily pulled her phone out to check the date and recount the days in her head even though she didn't have to. She knew all too well that her period was well past overdue, and that it had been weeks since she had last had it. And even though the panic and anxiety was boiling deep in the pit of her stomach, she pushed it down. She tried not to think of it. She tried to come up with more excuses. She tried to stay in denial. God she tried so hard. But it was no use. She had to face the truth. She had to stop lying to herself. It wasn't like she didn't already know.
With a quick swipe of her thumb Emily unlocked her phone, quickly pulling up Safari and googling the number to the local Planned Parenthood center. A shaky hand brought the phone to her ear, and she gnawed on her bottom lip anxiously until a polite voice answered her on the third ring.
"Thank you for calling Planned Parenthood, this is Sierra speaking how may I help you?"
Emily took a shaky breath, tears welling up in her eyes. "Hi, I'm Emily and, I..I think I may be pregnant?"

You have to do it the voice in her head told her. You have to tell him.
With her heart beating quickly, Emily peered through the window, in search for a certain tanned boy with tattoos. Her eyes caught sight of his blue-haired best friend, before she finally spotted Calum on the side of him. She internally groaned, she had hoped he wouldn't be here so she wouldn't have to tell him. With a deep breath she pushed through the doors, and maneuvered her way through the sea of people until she was in front of the pair of friends.
". .I'm telling you dude it was the best head I've ever gotten, she was so-" Michael stopped mid-sentence when he noticed the girl standing a few feet away, gripping the strap of her bag. Calum noticed her then too, and smirked a bit.
"Emily, hey." He flashed her a smile. "What're you doing here?"
"I uh, we need to talk." She stepped closer to the pair. Calum nodded, motioning for her to continue. She glanced at Michael. "Alone."
"Sweetheart, anything you say to him, is just going to get repeated right back at me." Michael said cheekily, with a smirk on his face.
Emily blushed and bit her lip. She wasn't exactly sure how she should say what she needed to say. "Im late." She finally blurted out, and then panickily looked around them to make sure nobody has heard.
"Late to what?" Calum furrowed his eyebrows, confused.
Emily groaned. "No, like I'm late Calum." She sighed looking at him.
"Define late." He asked, raising an eyebrow at the girl, understanding what she meant.
"I haven't gotten my period since the month before we had sex." She admitted shyly in a soft tone. Michaels jaw dropped.
"Why didn't you tell me!" Calum whispered yelled, slamming the book in his hand closed.
Emily flinched as she looked down in shame. She didn't have an answer for the boy. She should have told him when she had first gotten suspicious. She had just kept telling herself that it was a few days late and nothing to worry about, but now it was mid-September and she hadn't had her period since July. The three of them stood there, in the book aisle all quiet for a minute. Finally Emily spoke up. "I haven't taken a test yet because I've been too scared but I booked an appointment for the doctors on Friday and that's when I'll find out for sure so.." She trailed off.
"Holy shit." Michael said and turned to Calum. "Holy fucking shit." He stated with a chuckle. "Oh god this is good."
Both Calum and Emily shot him a look. "Fuck off Mike, not the time." Calum rolled his eyes, clearly annoyed. He turned back to Emily. "I'll bring you Friday alright?" She nodded. "We're gonna get this taken care of."
Emily was taken aback. "W-what?"
"If you really are pregnant, you're not going to have it." He stated simply with a shrug of his shoulders.
She stared at the boy in front of her with wide eyes. She didn't even know if she was actually pregnant yet and here Calum was talking about 'getting rid of it'. She didn't know what she had expected of him, but it sure as hell wasn't this.
"I uh, I gotta get to class. I'll see you Friday right? Um yeah okay. Bye." She draped her bag on her shoulder and scurried out of the school's library without looking back.
Once she was through the doors and into the hallway, Michael looked at Calum. "So you knocked her up, eh?" He smirked but Calum remained stoic.
"Not funny." The boy shoved the book back into the shelf and ran his hand over his face and through his hair. "God I hope I didn't."
"Well, it sure looks like you did." Michael pressed his lips together. "What're you going to do if she is?"
Calum shrugged. "She's not having it." He said simply.
"That's not really your choice to make, is it mate?" Michael questioned, leaning against the tall shelf filled with books.
"Wanna bet?" The brunette challenged, stuffing his hands in his pockets. "Let's go, Mr. Roberts'll be pissed if we're late again."
"Whatever you say," michael smirked "daddy."
As his best friend walked in front of him, Calum was sure to give him a quick slap across the head, receiving a wince and "fucker".
