Death

Why must death take a soul as bright as yours?

You grasp on tight to your faith of resurrection.

Your heart is building itself up but your mind is breaking you down.

To watch you slowly fall apart.

My least favorite thing.

To be in the presence of death, it's an experience I never thought I'd be witness to.

So bright, your light could shine the world without rest.

It's fading slowly, your tears fog up your sunny glow.

It hurts, I can't find a way to deal with your slow fall into that endless sleep.

Your smile is my favorite thing, yet it fails to shine as bright as before.

The days go by and you fall faster.

Unaware of the time we have left to make unforgettable memories.

All our dreams, plans, and dates, spilling out the bucket.

Death can be cruel.

But time is the cruelest.
