Green Apple x Ruby

Her eyes became watery as she let out a couple tears. Maybe she was asking for too much. She didn't know. She didn't care anymore.

Green apple watching ruby let out her tears, could feel a small hint of sadness coming out of him.

He walked on over to her sitting next to her near the pond. Putting his hand on hers unknowingly, catching the red gem's attention as she turns to him teary eyed.

He looks back at her and opens his mouth "Hanging out with you is fun. Sorry the others forgot your birthday. And me. But uh.. I wouldn't mind doing something special with you. If you don't mind"

And with that speech he gave her the biggest and most wholesome-

No wait. He just gave her another small smile.

But she took it to heart as more tears formed. She hugged the round fruit with joy "you are so cute!" Was all she said as she hugged him tighter

"Let's go make this the best birthday ever!" And what that she pushed him in the water, hopping in herself laughing.

The water wasn't deep at all, and they both seemed to enjoy their time together.

And often could see Green apple letting out small signs of emotions here and there.

And the later it got, the more activities they came up with to make the day more exicting. Or Ruby came up with them.

But Green apple was happy to participate.

Soon enough Ruby was tired. And back they went, out of the forest to go and sleep.

"That sure was fun huh Greenie??"

"Yeah."

"I really wish we could do it everyday don't you??"

"Yeah."

The red gem giggled at his responses. There was just something cute about him that she couldn't explain.

"Well maybe-"

"GREEN" an angry yet sassy voice can be heard. As it catches the attention of both Green apple and Ruby

"Yeah??"

"No not you I meant green apple!"

"Pff I knew that" there was a second voice. They both sounded familiar..

"Wait- pencil??" Ruby looked at the Pencil in the distance. But it was rather dark. So she couldn't see very well.

"Yes it's me- could someone turn on the lights?! Bubble!!"

"Oh! Roight soyrry!" And with that, lights were turned on that were on the tables and the ground. And suddenly a nice set up was revealed.

It looked like a nice surprise party, with the confetti and everything! Looks like a nice touch from Flower indeed.

"Surprise!" Everyone shouted

"What's this??" Ruby eyes sparkled she almost couldn't contain her excitement.

"Well this WAS supposed to be like. Your surprise party 5 HOURS ago. But green apple forgot to do his part!" Pencil scoffed looking away from Green apple.

"Wow! So you guys really do care!"

"Gosh of course we care you're like part of our alliance! Although Green apple had us waiting FOREVER that everyone already left. So it's just us." Match exclaimed looking at her non existent nails.

Ruby looked at the alliance all 3 of them before smiling and rushing over to hug them all "I love you guys!"

The hug practically caught the 3 of them off guard, but they soon hugged back

"And don't forget grreeeen peppermiint" Green peppermint said slowly appearing with a smug look

"Ugh! Go away! You're like ruining the moment!" Match looked away from the mint highly disgusted in his presence.

Eventually Pencil would be the one to break the group hug putting her hands on her hips "Come on we still gotta see you open our presents!"

"You guys even got me presents?!" Ruby hopped excitedly

"Duh" and with a clap of her hand bubble had rushed over handing ruby her presents to her

"This one is moine! I hope you loike it ruby!" Bubble smiled

"I'm sure I will thanks bubble!!" But before Ruby could open presents she looked around to see Green apple walking away

Immediately taking action the red gem grabbed the green fruit by the arm and sitting him down next to her

Green apple didnt fight her. He just let it happen as he watched her open all the gifts, hearing her little aws and gasps made his heart flutter a bit.

He found himself having a good time more than ever. 

"Oh oh here's another one! It's uh- a pile of mud??"

"That one's mine" Green peppermint proudly smiled before getting hit with a broom stick

"Get outta here shoo!" Match said continuously hitting green peppermint

Green peppermint could only hiss in response before fleeing the scene.

As Green apple watched the peppermint flee he blinks and turned to ruby, poking her lightly trying to catch her attention

"Hm?" She turned over to him "what's up??" She smiled.

"I got you something."

"Wait- really?? Oh my gosh what is it??" Ruby fully turned to him practically squealing from excitement

What could it be? A kiss maybe? Or flowers? Maybe even chocolates?

Or a-

A rock?

Yes. Green apple handed her a rock.

She blinked and stared at it, while pencil and match scolded the fruit

"A rock?! Are you stupid? You don't just give ruby a rock for her birthday!"

"Yeah like you have to give her something cooler! Rocks are so not cool!"

But what those two didn't know is that Ruby in fact did like the rock.

It was roughly heart shaped. And had a little smiley face on it.

She could only smile back and look at poor green apple who was being yelled at still by the two.

She got up though interrupting the moment as she walked over to green apple.

She leaned in and gave him a small kiss on the cheek "Thank you" was all she said before walking off

"Like.. What just happened?" Match said watching ruby walk off

"I think she like- actually enjoyed this lunatics gift-?"

"Aww I thoink that's sweet!"

"Of course you would think that bubble!" The 3 shared a conversation once more leaving Green apple with his own thoughts.

Eventually though he processed the situation and could only give a small response. "Wow."

Was all he said before smiling
