Green Apple x Ruby

"Greenie!! Greenie!!" The happy little gem waved at Green apple eagerly running towards him with a boost of energy

It was a nice day today, a bit cloudy, but the skies were still clear enough to see. Many objects were enjoying the day by cloud gazing at the sky.

On this particular day though Ruby wanted to see her green friend Green apple.

The apple turned to his friend ruby with a blank expression that turned into a small smile as he waves back with little energy, she stops in front of him smiling with joy. She was excited that's for sure

"Guess what day it issss" she hops a bit trying to contain her excitement

The apple failed to mimic her excitement but it was cute that he was at least making a small effort. "Ok" he responded, but made no effort in guessing.

Ruby whined and shook him a bit "come onnn greenie! That's not guessing!" She continued to shake him as he started to speak again not phased at all from the shake

"Is it valentines day?" Ruby giggled at the response

"Nope! Good try though! Dont tell me you really forgot though!" Ruby put both her hands on her hips, or in that sort of motion. She is a gem after all.

Green apple stood for a bit thinking to himself. What was today? Oh of course why it's-

"I don't know." Oh well guess he didn't know after all.

The red ruby sighed with disappointment, she was slightly hurt by those words. Though she can't blame her green friend for forgetting. After all who would be mad at such a cute fella?

"Greenie it's my birthday!" She pouted

"Oh. Happy birthday" he replied with a thumbs up.

Ruby huffed in response "Is that all?" She tilts her head a bit

"Yah" he forms a small smile

"Oh no no no, that CAN'T be all! I won't accept it!" She grabbed his arm and started running excitedly, doing a small cheer

"Whoo hoo!!" Her expressions are filled with joy

"Where are we going?" Green apple asked almost tripping on every obstacle

"I have no idea!!" The red gem exclaimed in glee

Eventually their long journey into the woods came to a stop. Were they lost? Who knows. Ruby did not seem bothered.

"Soooo Greenie now that we're aloooone..." The ruby went quiet for a moment "you gotta tell me!"

The red gem started shaking the green apple once more, this time more eagerly "are they throwing me a surprise party? Everyone has been avoiding meeee! It's not fair! And I thought maybe you'd remember and plan something speciallll"

Green apple could only stare at Ruby, blinking he starts to think to himself. Finding himself lost in thought.

"And remember Green Apple absolutely DO NOT tell Ruby about this! Ok? You go over there in the open and when she finds you just keep her busy!"

"Yah! What like Pence Pence said, now go make yourself useful we are planning a party here!"

"I dunno" was all the green apple responded with. Either he did what he was asked. Or he didn't remember at all.

"Ohh.." The ruby sat down in defeat near a pond, looking at her reflection all she saw was a saddened expression.

All she wanted was love and a bit of affection on her birthday. Was it too much to ask for?
