Elysium felt when Smith "woke up" in his "new body" and she knew it was all starting.... after Thomas met with his therapist he heads straight for Elysium's apartment and she leads him out to her balcony then tells him softly "you will meet a girl who calls herself Bugs she's a friend of our daughter and is trustworthy.... and not as annoying as you considered the "kid" we named our son after"  he chuckles with a half smile she looks at him then says as she hands him a bottle of liquor "let me ask you this.... if I weren't here how would you have reacted to today?!"  he looks down at the bottle in her hand that she was holding by the neck and lets a short soft chuckle slip through his lips then asks "you want me to get drunk!?!"  she replies "I want you to continue playing the part for as long as possible if they know that you are freer than they want you to be.... even if you still aren't completely you and don't have all your former abilities.... this is for your sake as well as Trinity and the rest of those poor lost souls that still need to be saved before the purge that is to come"  he nods then takes the bottle from her then leans forward and kisses her lips "you're not coming!?!"  he asks after he leans back and looks into her eyes "and do what!?! argue with your drunk self!?! well we all know THAT's a losing battle!"  she replies he laughs "I told you from the very start I am not the one who will "show you the way" you already met one.... your Modal Morpheus.... who probably sucks at the showmanship our Morpheus had"  she tells him he chuckles then asks with a curious tone "how did you know!?!"  she replies "I felt the Analyst's version of Smith wake up and I have a feeling there is only one person with the "power" to do that.... you weren't his only nemesis you know?!"  he nods then chuckles and asks "you don't like him do you!?!"  she replies "not particularly"  he laughs.... that night as Thomas pretended to be drunk he met the woman Elysium predicted he'd meet and just like every other time when she wasn't around his mind flashed back to the way the Matrix wanted him to be another lost soul who was a bit more demented than most because of the fact his mind was trapped between reality and "fiction" "I am curious about one thing though.... will you still want me to call you Thomas when this is all over or will we make up something else!?! I mean your Therapist calls you Thomas and he started all this shit!"  Thomas hears Elysium ask within the wind for even though he couldn't see her he knew she was standing by his side "of course I will!"  he exclaims softly wishing he could take her hand in his luckily he was still pretending to be drunk while standing up on the roof bottle in hand so it wasn't unheard of for someone in his "state" to be talking to himself even if he IS half way to becoming batshit crazy Elysium looks over at the pigeon who was sitting on the ledge of the roof beside them as it flies away and whispers as she takes Thomas' hand in hers and gives it a gentle squeeze "time to free your mind Neo!"  taking that as a clue Thomas "starts the show" and for the first time since he walked up onto the roof he felt Elysium "disappear" which helped him "sell" the show the way he needed to and just as he starts to step off the ledge he feels a feminine hand grab his wrist and pull him back onto the roof.... Thomas feels Elysium take his hand and give it a light comforting squeeze as he watches footage from his game of him and "their" Morpheus having their (Morpheus and Neo) first chat on a white screen that was torn in the middle along the bottom and his body sighs in relief knowing that she was there and yet once again not seen it was after he felt her soft skin on his slightly rougher skin that he could sense her presence.... everywhere around him but mostly in his heart and that was how he knew she was truly there for that is the way it felt the last time this had happened "they're watching!"  he hears Elysium whisper and he knew he had to keep playing the "game" and that is what he did he took his mind back to where it is when she's not around and acted as though he wasn't fully a true believer though there was a small part of him that still wasn't thanks to the woman he loves there was a bigger part of him that WISHES/HOPES it is for he knows she is.... uncomfortable here and wants to "go home" his heart thinks back to the truth of what happened in the particular time he was now watching with his own eyes the fact that Elysium was hit by a car then tossed into the truck and fed a red pill without her knowledge and/or permission and it made him sad for he was powerless to stop it "think of it this way.... if he hadn't fed me the pill.... where would we be!?!.... perhaps you would have forgotten me and actually fulfilled the Prophecy...."  Elysium whispers "no!.... never! I could NEVER forget you!!"  Thomas whispers in reply and if it wasn't for the fact that he saw Bugs smile he would never have realized he spoke out loud the only one who seemed confused was "Morpheus" "you never programmed the memory of me into him did you!?!"  Elysium asks "sorry!"  Thomas whispers lowering his head in shame Bugs chuckles softly "hey B!"  Elysium says with a smile "hey Elys"  Bugs replies with a nod Morpheus looks at her terribly confused as to what was going on and Bugs tries her darndest not to burst out laughing "she can see you!?!"  Thomas asks with a whispered tone full of surprise "not really but she knows who I am since she's friends with our daughter and since you started talking to yourself she put two and two together and it equaled twenty two Morpheus on the other hand.... is just as lost as you are!"  Elysium replies Bugs bursts out laughing "she can hear me now though.... for how long I have no idea"  Elysium says Thomas nods "now listen he's not done"  she whispers "he never is!"  Thomas replies with a smile Bugs laughs then she starts to explain why it was so hard for them to find him and what his DSI looks like to the rest of the world "I told you you were different I suppose I forgot to mention that you were crowning!... it's the hat! it's gotta be the hat!"  Elysium whispers ending with a tease Bugs chuckles.... "close the mirror! tell them to close the mirror! they're here!"  Thomas hears Elysium whisper softly just before he reaches for the red pill he takes the pill out of Morpheus' hand and puts it in his mouth he looks over at Bugs and realizes that she didn't hear her this time as the blue haired woman walks away from.... "Thomas!"  Elysium says with a worried tone as he places the tips of two of his fingers on the mirror which ripples like water as he touches it he looks through the mirror and sees the Analyst staring at him from the other side as his hand sinks through it "oh, God"  he says softly after the Analyst calls out his name then the Analyst starts to try and get him back but it doesn't work for Thomas had the one he needs by his side at his side "don't be a Smith Thomas! don't be "compelled to stay"!"  Elysium says softly Thomas turns his head in the direction he heard her voice and he begins to fight as the Analyst takes his hand and tries to pull him through the mirror and towards him "Bugs!"  Elysium shouts Bugs turns her head and sees Neo's body get pulled through the mirror by a unseen by her force and she rushes over to pull him back towards her calling over to Morpheus to help her Morpheus shoots the mirror then Bugs and Thomas fall to the ground and Thomas feels Elysium hug him and he tries to hug her back but unfortunately he can't feel much less see her body so he probably just looked like a crazy man who was placing hand over his heart "you have to go! I'll see you at home!"  Thomas hears Elysium whisper and he nods then follows Morpheus, Bugs and her crew out of the theatre
