'Why am I arrested?' I ask.
'You have the right to remain silent until we reach the station,' The male officer snaps.
'Rude,' I mutter, rolling my eyes.
I need to get out of this. How did I even get into this?
I realise I have my phone in the back pocket of my skirt, they didn't take it. I press my face against the metal separating me from the front seats.
I use the tips of my fingers to get my phone out. The metal of the cuffs dig into my wrists. I struggle a bit more before I get my phone in my hands.
I peer behind my back and look at my phone. I take a deep breath and open it up.
I need to text Adriano.
I go through my messages and find Adriano's number.
Help. In a poli-
The car jerks to a stop in front of a red light and my face makes contact with the metal bars. My phone slips out of my hands and hits the floor.
'Mierda!' I grunt.
Translation: Shit
'What happened?' The female officer asks.
'Nothing, just hit my head,' I mutter.
They continue driving and I look down at my phone. I try and reach for my phone and struggle. That's when I get a brilliant idea.
I lay down on the seat and prop my feet up to the ceiling. I hang off the edge of the seat and my cuffed hands fall behind my head.
'What is she doing?' I hear one of them ask.
I scramble a little more and finally get my phone. I push myself back into a proper sitting position and finish my message.
Help. In a police car, I'll send my location.
I send it and then turn on my location. He should be able to track me. Now I just have to wait.
We arrive at the station and the police officers escort me into an interrogation room.
They take off the hand cuffs and I rub my now red wrists.
'I'm sure you're wondering why we've brought you here.' A man in front of me says. I think he's a detective.
He looks 23 or 24, his dirty blonde hair is pushed out of his face and his green eyes are stern.
'Yes, I am wondering that,' I reply.
'I'm detective Stevens,' he says extending his hand. I don't shake it.
'Cut the formalities, I want to know why I'm here,' I snap, leaning back in my chair.
'We have suspicions that you are associating yourself with someone very dangerous.' Stevens says.
'I'm not.' I reply.
He pushes forward a picture and I see Adriano staring up at me.
Oh god.
Don't freak out, be calm.
'Ring a bell Miss Caesar?' He asks.
'No,' I reply calmly. I hope my face doesn't give anything away.
'Dilara I hope you're not lying to us,' he says.
My face remains bored. He picks up a file next to him.
'Spotless record, no illegal activity, a straight A student.' He looks up at me. 'You wouldn't want that ruined now would you?'
