Raima stared at the file opened in front of her aimlessly. She was tired. She hadn't even done anything, still she was. She had been back at work yesterday.

She was mentally tired. She did not know what she wanted. There was one thing, and the other. There were so many emotions and she had to see which one would be stronger. She was burnt out. Tired of everything.

She sighed and looked around the room. Her room was white and brown. Eshal's favourite combination. She opened a drawer. It was a photo. There were 3 people in it. She caressed the photo with her fingers. She knew what she wanted. She kept it back inside the drawer and got back to work.

2 hours later, the door knocked. She looked up to see Hassan entering. She averted her eyes and looked down. He came forward and sat on a chair.

He was the last person she wanted to see at that time.

She kept her eyes on the file, unable to meet his.
"How are you?" He looked down at his nail and said while rubbing it with another nail.
"I am fine." She said and flipped through the file.
"Kuch lengy aap?"
(Will you take something?)

Your attention.
He thought, but didn't say it. It wasn't like he was going to get it even if he said. What was the need of repeating the same thing over and over, when the next person doesn't even want to hear it?

"Nothing." Raima nodded and started reading the file. She was not handling a huge business. Her father had a small business. It was not easy for her as a student to manage it but it was not that difficult either. There were just 10-15 people in the office, all females. She only hired females. In this way, they were all comfortable. Same was the case with Ayesha, her cousin. They wanted to locate both the offices at the same place so it would be easy for them. But it was a tiring process, so they let it be. They decided to see the matter after graduation.

They stayed in an uncomfortable silence for a few seconds. One had to break it, and Hassan knew that the one won't be her, it had to be him.
He took a deep breath.
"Raima, I am sorry. I shouldn't have talked about Rukhsati when you've said you don't want it for the next 2 years at least." Raima closed her eyes shut. Why was he like that? Why did he apologise? He'd made her feel embarrassed all of a sudden. He made her feel guilty with his behaviour. He was making everything difficult. But she continued.

"It—It's okay. It was my fault too. I shouldn't have been harsh." She opened them and said, not meeting his eyes. He was getting confused but nodded and decided to change the topic.

"I don't understand you. You're puzzling." He gave words to the thoughts he was having.

"I would have been happy if I understood what I wanted. But...I don't. Insaan itne seedhy saaday nahi hotay jitne nazar atay hain. Everyone is a mess of thoughts and emotions.  You know, We have to make decisions at every point of life, decisions that change our lives as well as of people who're related to us." Raima was staring at an invisible point. She was in deep thought.

(People are not as innocent as they appear.)

"I won't ask you what happened because I know you don't trust me enough to tell." He only thought about the last part, but couldn't say it.

"...because I know you're not comfortable yet. But I hope you make the right decision in whatever you're trying to do."

"How will I know what's the right decision to make?"
