we had became very close friends over that time period. i really did appreciate him though. i was already busy enough but he boosted my shop so much more. i'm actually planning of expanding because of him. i mean, every time he gets work done by me he posts it and tags me. plus, being a nfl player, my work is always exposed on national television. he's a walking billboard.
him , along with his fellow nfl buddies who have also come along to get work done too. about to start calling myself a celebrity tattoo artist at this point.
we both had a part of an unspoken deal. he got the hookups on tattoos, i got free promotion by default and we both got to hangout with each other 24/7.
"i'll get to you eventually." i said as he dramatically groaned. whenever i tried to refer him to my feee colleagues , he declined , saying he only wants me to work on him. i love the commitment, but i try to tell him they're just as good as me. doesn't listen.
"so mean." he pouted like a toddler as i laughed at him. he tried to look like he was mad for a few seconds before my infectious laugh spread to him too.

the time for my next client entering was nearing and ja'marr was still in here having the time of his life.
"you gotta go before they come. you know i love talking to you more than anything but i gotta be professional."
"you know they want to see me." he joked. they probably did, actually. since he ways always here , football fans came a lot expecting him. and he would just be recognized sometimes. he was basically the co-owner at this point.
"is that ja'marr chase?" my next client just happens to be there, a bit early, as expected. "can i have a picture, if you don't mind."
"of course, man. and i told you, ki!" he took a picture but not before sticking his tongue out at me.
——
"i know you did not wait in the waiting area!" i gasped as ja'marr walked his ass right back into my station shortly after my client left.
"sure did." he did a dance and a spin into his favorite chair.
"you're weirddd."
"you love it , so shut up."
we talked for much longer as he helped me wrap up for the day since i was done.
"you off tomorrow, right?"
"yeah. i'm not doing your tattoo, if that's what you're about to ask."
"that wasn't what i was going to say , but okay miss ma'am." he held his hands up in defense.
"we're going to hangout tomorrow."
we hung out a decent amount, but not all the time. he was always all over the place with football and i was working. so, most of the time he comes into my shop. i've only been to one of his games.
"okay." i accepted. "that's random though."
"i can't want to be with you?" he asked, looking down at me.
i shrugged and furrowed my eyebrows. "of course you can , but you said that weird."
"i don't care which way you took it," he turned around to fully face me now, "cause either way, i meant it."
"what do you mean?" i asked cautiously before i jumped to conclusions and made a fool out of myself.
"you know exactly what i mean." he said sternly and with confidence, not an ounce of fear or regret on his face or in his demeanor.
"and where is this coming from?"
"my heart. it's been there since the supermarket, im just not holding it back anymore."
i looked at him briefly for a second, almost like i was scanning his eyes and feelings. i smiled and rolled my eyes, breaking the eye contact.
"there goes that smile. i was waiting for it." he put his large hand in the small of my back and i let my hands meet the back of his neck.
i leaned up, he leaned down, and the rest was history.
"yeahhhh, i'm gon see that butt tattoo you got one day!"
