Ethereal Meadow

under
the light of
a lonely
evening star
that waits
for the moon

i wandered
through
ethereal
meadows,
where
daisies
blossom
in spring,
searching
for the
part of me
i left behind.

sad
was our parting,
sadder
still was he,
to
no longer
be
the version
of me
that
you see
when
you think
of me.

for how long
did he wait
on that
ethereal
meadow,
under a starry
twilight sky,
amidst
the daisies,
before
he realized
that I had
abandoned
him,
i wonder,
for how long
did he
wait
after that?

it was
foolish
of me
to think
he'd just
sit there
and wait
for me
after
what i did
to him.
after
what i did
to me.

it was
foolish
of me
to
do that
to him,
to me,
in the
first place.

i know now
that
i need him,
i know now
that
he never
needed me,
but
I want him
back,
I want me
back.

it is i
who waits
alone
under a starry
twilight sky,
amidst
the daisies,
it is he
who has now
abandoned me.
