"Why are we going to aunt Lauras?"
I sit next to my mom in the quint jet, a packed bag next to me.
"Because there's something the others and I have to take care of." She looks at Clint and back to me.
"You mean a mission?"
"Yeah, like a mission. And we don't know how long it will take so I want to be sure that you're not alone and that someone takes care of you." She smiles at me and squeezes my hand a little.
"Is it because of the robots?"

I'm almost scared of the answer because I saw them and how dangerous they were, I don't want my mom to get hurt.
I mean, sure, it's not the first mission she went on, not at all but I usually don't know anything about them.
She's not allowed to talk to me about them and I respect that.
Most of the missions don't take longer than two days and I spend the time at the tower, being watched by one of the other Avengers.
Not that I would need a babysitter but mom just wants to know I'm safe while she's gone.
But this time is different. This time I know what she is fighting against and it requires all of the Avengers and probably will last longer than two days. I'm scared she will get hurt badly.

"Yes, it is. But don't worry, malyschka. We will win, as always."
"But what if you don't this time?" I speak quietly and keep my eyes on my knees.
"We will. We're the heroes, we always win."
"What if you get hurt...or worse..."
I bite my lip as my heart clenches together at this thought.
She gets up and kneels down in front of me, taking my hands in hers.

"I will come back to you, moya lyubov. I promise. I won't die on this mission."
I look up into her eyes and slowly nod. "You really promise?" I whisper.
"Of course. I promise I will come back to you."
"Okay."
She smiles a little and gets up on her knees to hug me.

Around 20 minutes later we land and mom, Clint and I get out of the quint jet, walking towards the house on the field. I carry my bag and watch as Cooper and Lila come running outside to hug their father and my mom.
Laura stands in the entrance of the house, leaning against the doorframe.
"Thanks for taking care of her." My mom thankfully smiles at Laura as I put my bag down.
"Any time. I love having her over." Aunt Laura smiles at me and I return one.
"Everything she needs she has with her. We don't know how long it will take but I'll make sure to give as many updates as possible."

Laura nods and mom takes my hand, leading me a few steps away from them to hug me.
"You behave yourself, okay? And you listen to Laura and be nice."
"I know, mom. I'm a big girl, I know how to behave."
"I know, I know." She strokes my hair.
"I will call you anytime possible."
I nod and hug her.
"But be careful, okay?"
She cups my face with both hands and kisses my forehead. "I will. See you in a bit, malyschka."
"See you, mama."

I wave as she goes back to the quint jet with uncle Clint and take a deep breath, everything will be fine.

I get my own room with a bed, a desk and a drawer to put my stuff in.
It's their guest room until their third child arrives.
I unpack my bag and head back down to play outside with Lila.
She squeals as I chase her around the yard and pretend to almost catch her. It's so cute.

I don't have siblings and I'm okay with that because since Cooper and Lila are born, we visit them regularly and I can play with them.
The thought of sharing my mom with someone else is also a little strange because it's always been her and me and I kinda like it this way.
Cooper joins us and brings a ball we start to kick around. It's a lot of fun and after dinner I help Laura clean up and fall into bed after I went to the bathroom.

It was a stressful day and I'm exhausted. Maybe that's a good thing because after a few seconds in my bed, I fall into a deep sleep.

The next days are pretty similar, I play with Cooper and Lila, help Laura around the house and do some schoolwork I brought with me since I'm not there at the moment.
It's peaceful and in some way more relaxed as living in the tower where always is something up or wrong.
Don't get me wrong, I love living in the tower with my mom and the other Avengers but it's a nice change to live here, out of the city for a little while.

Mom called yesterday and told me that everything is fine and no one is hurt but they aren't quite finished yet.
She asked about my day and the kids and Laura. I told her that we're getting along great and that there's nothing to worry about here.
She sounded relieved and wished me a good night before we ended the call.

So that's the latest update I have on her.
