5. Family Reunion

Start from the beginning

As Amara made her way through the large crowds of people towards the private elevator - one that only specific authorised personnel could use - she couldn't help but appreciate the fact that her identity has remained hidden to this day. She was able to freely walk around the streets of New York without fans, news reporters and paparazzi swarming her at every corner.

Amara had always loved the little things that she was able to do like going to the park as a child or going out to get ice cream. She has to admit that while her hidden identity does have its perks, it always has its downfalls. For example, the fact that she could never be seen in public with members of her family and when the Avengers go out for a victory meal, she would always have to sneak in through the back. Part of Amara wishes she could just do exactly what her father did all those years ago when he announced his identity to the world, but then she thinks about all of the mid-afternoon walks around the city she would miss out on and she pushes the thought away.

When Amara made her way into the elevator, the doors promptly shut behind her. She placed her right palm on the screen next to the door of the elevator and looked into the hidden camera in the far right-hand side corner, allowing it to complete a facial recognition and iris scan before she said, "Voice activation: Amara Stark."

"Voice activation approved. Welcome back, Miss Stark."

"Thanks, FRIDAY. Can you take me up to the lab? Oh, and also notify my dad that I'll be giving him a debriefing on my first contact with subject S-12, Thanks." S-12 was the officially recorded name for Spiderman in the Avengers and SHIELD databases.

"Of course, right away Miss Stark. And should I also open up your report on subject S-12, ready for any new information inputted into the system?"

"Uh...yeah, that'd be helpful, thanks, just make sure to keep it locked to all users except me, and also block my dad's override code with the new one I coded this morning and put it onto the report, it should work."

"No problem, Miss Stark."

Amara walked out of the elevator and made her way towards Tony Stark's lab, the distant sound of AC/DC's Back in Black playing.

----------

Tony Stark was working on advancing Cap's shield. First of all, he thought of adding a display system, similar to the one on Sam's suit, but Steve wasn't too keen on the idea of changing his shield, so they agreed on strengthening the magnets on Cap's suit sleeve and the Shield - that way he could call his shield to him when he's fighting German scientists with red face paint, stuck in a computer, or whatever.

It wasn't that Steve was scared of technology, - God knows he was learning something, at the very least, from Amara - it was more of the fact that Steve felt he didn't need all this technological advancement; he believes that his "strong wit and fast reflexes" is enough - which was obviously, incredibly naïve of him.

Tony, absent-mindedly grabbed the nearest screwdriver and tried to use it to loosen the magnetic panel when he heard his daughter, Amara speak, "there's no way that that's gonna fit in there."

Without looking up Tony remarked, "That's what she said." Then he put the screwdriver down and looked at her, "Well would you look at that. My daughter, the know-it-all, still trying to prove her genius, billionaire father, who pays for all her things, wrong."

Amara gave Tony a sarcastic smirk and threw a smaller, thinner screwdriver at him, "Here, try this." He gave her a curious look and tried the screwdriver she had just handed him. Amara continued, "I'm surprised Steve's letting you work on his shield. I thought he hated all that, not to mention how protective he is of that thing."
